Discussion: Rand Paul: GOPers May Have 'Over-Emphasized' Voter Fraud

Discussion for article #221924

Paul is in the stage of his campaign where he says as close to nothing as possible. When asked about tough issues he will re-state the question and talk about both points of view, but rarely will he offer any sort of personal opinion, solution, or policy.

Not an original thought of mine, but I canā€™t remember whose it wasā€“pretty sure it was one of the Balloon-Juicers.

If a single fraudulent vote is such an intolerable insult to democracy that no amount of money or effort devoted to eliminating it is too much, how is it that preventing hundreds or thousands of people who are eligible to vote from voting is no big deal?

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) thinks Republicans may have ā€œover-emphasizedā€ the issue of voter fraud, according to The Washington Post.

Ya think?
I bet Hugh_Everett is apoplectic right about now

Does this ding bat understand that not everyone has a driverā€™s license? That not everyone who votes owns a car or needs a driverā€™s license.

Paul: Dead people do still vote in some elections.

Only if you watch the ā€œWalking Deadā€ TV show there, Mr Paul.

Itā€™s because he hasnā€™t an original or complete thought in his head.

Okay, how long do we think this guy lasts in the primary? Past the first debate? The third?

Guess he forgot that he is suppose to move back towards sane America AFTER he gets the republic nomination.

Iā€™d like to see his proof of dead people voting. Are there dead people in the polling books? Sure - Iā€™ve seen it myself when a neighbor died in April and her name was still in the polling book in November. (It was removed after that.) However, nobody showed up to vote in her name, and I doubt that there are many cases of people voting in the names of dead people.

No Wayā€¦Really??? Cā€™mon??? Are you serious??? Stop pulling my leg!!!

ā€œI donā€™t knowā€¦but Iā€™m still going to talk at length and use the misconception to my benefit. I mean, letā€™s take Alex Jones for example and let me talk about Bilderberg Group. I mean, I donā€™t know anything about it but allow me to talkā€¦ā€

Rand is doing nothing more than scamming for votes with his recent moderate statements.

Rand Paul: ā€œI may have ā€˜over-emphasizedā€™ my viability as a presidential candidate.ā€

Fixed it for you.

PRAISE THE LORD! Rand Paul is trying to look like heā€™s edging toward the center to win the GOP nomination for the Presidency of These Yewnited States! Thisā€™ll be better than that train wreck at the beginning of ā€œThe Fugitiveā€ movie! YEE HAW!!

May have? The GOP has made the Midterms all about denying citizens the right to vote. Itā€™s too late to realize that you are on the wrong side of democracy, Rand.

You know all that liberty and freedom rhetoric which conservatives zealots like to rally around the flag about but donā€™t intend for anyone but billionaires and bigots to have? Republicans canā€™t stand down from their voter suppression laws now without losing their ā€œprinciples.ā€

Republicans always overreach and do everything wrong. Thatā€™s why most moderates are now Independents comfortable with voting Democratic. And most Libertarians are walking back their relations with the GOP except you, Rand.

You Think, Senator Paul ?

He understands alright but chooses to use this against loyal, law abiding citizens because itā€™s the only thing that might save his chances and the chances of all the rest of the clown car Republicans running in future elections.

Some conservatives like Michelle Bachmann realize that even voter suppression could not help her and have just quit like Palin. He might want to do the same before being rejected by his fellow Far Right crackpots.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a moderate Republican in Rand Paul fighting to get out.

Rand, me thinks you are trying to cover one too many bases. I seriously donā€™t think you are doing a good job at it. You keep plugging along though. Thereā€™s quite a bit of time for you to continue polishing up your act.
