Discussion: Rand Paul: Baltimore Riots Are About 'Lack Of Fathers' And Lack Of Morals (AUDIO)

Oh, don’t worry. Executing a Black man in police custody is not evidence of a lack of morals according to racists like Rand Paul. That’s just doing God’s work.

Okay…I’m really angry with these guys today, aren’t I?

A Caucasian dominated justice system imprisons or kills millions of black men over several generations. These black men are disproportionally arrested, prosecuted and sentenced in relation to whites committing the same offenses. Those finally emerging from prison walls are stigmatized and punished further because of their records, finding employment/housing/marriage/education prospects dim. And everyone stands back during a riot and agrees the blame lies in their thuggery, their irresponsibility, their propensity for destruction and violence. Yeah, uh huh…

He added that “this isn’t just a racial thing.”

“But”, he continued, “We have to say that when it’s mostly in Republican minds…you know…a racial thing.”

I stop listening when politicians talk about the “moral code.” That is a nonconstructive dog whistle.

So he’s finally just given up on even pretending to try to outreach to the black community.

He added that “this isn’t just a racial thing.”

Well it’s not. But if he doesn’t understand that it is MOSTLY a racial thing, then he is just reconfirming that he is a clueless fool in a circle jerk with another clueless fool.

The idea behind a “dog whistle” is that only a dog can hear it. I think pretty much every one heard the racist implications in that statement.

“Presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) weighed in on the turmoil
in Baltimore on Tuesday, standing with police and blaming the violence
on a lack of morals in America.”

Thanks Mr Expert… You in both chambers own some of the reasons for this riot by sending gobs of money to the already wealthy and doing next to nothing for the poor except denigrating them and blaming them for the country’s ills.

Exactly - I literally could NOT believe he had the audacity to say this. Is anyone going to ask him what caused his son’s violent behavior???

Says the guy who is an “expert”.
Jeebers Randy, work on your own family before you criticize others.

Right, because Ron Paul did such a bang-up job as a father.

" ‘There are so many things we can talk about,’ the senator said, ‘the breakdown of the family structure, the lack of fathers, the lack of a moral code in our society.’ He added that ‘this isn’t just a racial thing.’ "

Clearly he knows it’s a racial thing, because he conveniently leaves out the structural racism, the root cause from which all he bemoans flows. His very answer just oozes “racial thing.”

What more can we expect from a man who supports a business owner refusing to serve certain customers?

So the Baltimore police lack fathers and morals? Who knew?

…said the father of a kid who was arrested for drunk driving less than 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, Rand, lecture us again about fathers and morality and setting examples.

So does RANDY have the morals of his Father and the Oath Keepers he serves? I guess we’ll see.

You beat me to the punch. He’s the last pol who needs to be out questioning the parenting skills of others. And I guarantee you his son was right in the thick of things in March when UK gloriously lost to WI and the students then rioted.

He still occasionally talks about sentencing disparities, as if that’s the real problem and the only issue black people care about. Really I find that to be a pretty racist single issue on which to appeal to people of color. It’s one thing if that’s part of a broad set of policies to address issues within the black community, but when that’s all you’ve got it doesn’t say very much about what you think of black folks.

I am pretty sure that Paul is getting his just dues with posters here.

More “Dog Whistles” to the Reich-Wingers.
“Lack of Fathers” = Ni(CLANG!)
Funny how when White College students riot in NH, no one says anything, but when Black YOUNG MEN (not “Boys”) do it “society has broken down.”
Hypocrites.
