Not to defend this POS, but a 911 dispatcher is usually not a LEO and even if they were, that would likely not be considered a lawfull order.
If the sale is across state lines or through the mail (likely with an online sale) it must be shipped from one FFL dealer on the sellers end to another FFL dealer on the buyers end who then must conduct a background check. Face to face in-state sales require no such check, this is what is commonly referred to as the “gun show loophole”.

In a way this is justice for Zimmerman. He should be in jail, but this is the next best thing…a sort of Twilight Zone punishment. I’m very pro 2nd Amendment, but other than racism, I could never understand how people didn’t see this as a criminal offense.
The incompetence of the legal system has a lot to do with Zimmy being on the streets. They overcharged him. But like I said before, he’s getting payed back. He’ll never have a real life. Even his former supporters want nothing to do with him. He’s a punk who was playing cop and his stupidity led to an innocent kids death. Martin had every right to fight back against an armed aggressor. This was all racist BS. Had it been a white kid and a black man I wonder what the outcome would have been and please don’t call Zim Hispanic. He never identified with Hispanics, just with white trash.

AFAIK, this dude is living in his car, staying on the move and scamming to survive and all of this alone. Background checks happen with every online gun auction. The purchased firearm is sent to the buyers local FFL of choice and a background check is done according to that States laws before the gun is released to the buyer. The first auction site, Gunbrokers, was smart to cancel the auction and send Zimmerman elsewhere. I’m surprised the other site accommodated him. I think Zimmerman is misreading public sentiment on this. He should destroy the weapon or actually auction it off with the proceeds going to charity or Martin’s family…
The best description of Zimmerman I’ve read described him as a “human skid mark.”
