Discussion for article #240314

I hope REM follows through with an actual complaint.

They canā€™t F*ck themselves. Neither has one long enough to reach.

Tell us how you really feel Michael.

Not to mention that the song mocks the very over-heated rhetoric spouted by Cruz, Trump et al. over the Iran deal. And Cruz and the crew are too dumb to even realize that.

See, if the media was truly liberal this would be the end of both their campaigns. Thieves are not well liked by most people.

Like the GOP, only the surface/title/branding matters. Details are for little people.

Not understanding the statement of the music theyā€™re using in their campaigns is a tradition among Republican politicians. Iā€™ve seen Springsteenā€™s ā€˜Born in the U.S.A.ā€™ used more than a few times, and Paul Ryan had Rage Against the Machine going in the background at one point.

Yes, just like they mistook Bruce Springsteenā€™s ā€œBorn in the USAā€ as a celebration of jnigoism, these folks donā€™t ā€œgetā€ subtlety.

Cruz even missed the not-so-subtle message in ā€œGreen Eggs and Ham.ā€ The point of it is to try things and educate yourself. He read it during his fake filibuster of The Affordable Care Act, which he was NOT will ing to try and see if it worked. Nor is he willing to try to make it better.

Hint: It is NOT a train wreck. And although imperfect, it DOES work.

They just donā€™t get it. None of them do. Funny they donā€™t March out on stage to the songs of people who support their policies.

Iā€™ve long been convinced that the underlying psychology of the conservative mind relies quite a bit on there being some missing piece of their brains that understands abstraction and creativity.

Iā€™m trying to think of what a ā€œconservativeā€ song would even be. Something by Johnny Rebel?

Nah, the are two of the biggest d!cks in the GO(T)P!

ā€œconservativeā€ songs? Letā€™s seeā€¦ pretty much anything by Ted Nugent. For Trump, especially, maybe 2 Live Crewā€™s ā€œme so hornyā€

Lee Greenwood, ā€œGod bless the USAā€. No one said it had to be a good song, did they?

Poor Repigs! Seems if its not a song by Ten Nugent, you feel you have to steal it. Well Iā€™ve fixed that for you. Hereā€™s the perfect song for you Republicans. All of you can use it and itā€™s lyrics are easy for you to remember.
"Republicans Suck!"

Youā€™re welcome!

A conservative song. Nothing other than the Horst Wessel song will do for them.

Until all these artists, who are pissed off by politicians using their music without permission or paying a royalty, start suing right after first use, these politicians will continue to use any music they want in plenty of one-offs along the campaign trail. Its sort of like an angry parent saying, ā€œif you do it this ONE MORE TIME, thereā€™s gonna be hell to pay, busterā€. Those kind of threats rarely dissuade a child, let alone someone as immature or as thick-headed as tRump.

Yeah, ā€œStrangleholdā€ takes on an entirely new meaning when you shine the light of ā€œTadā€™sā€ politics on it, doesnā€™t it?
