This is going to work out well.
This should be properly credited to the composer, Stephen Stills.
Missiles with a 250 mile range 30 miles from the border of Turkey.
What could possibly go wrong.
World War 3, folks. Bleak.
The Montreux Treaty is key. The Turks have made noises about changing it. Whoever left one nation on charge of the straights was an idiot. Don’t care if it was Greece or Bulgaria north of the straights but Turkey should NOT have been a European territory. If Turkey declares war outside of a NATO structure that will be the end of their control of the straights. I for one won’t be sorry to see them go. I also hope they drive them into the sea in Cypress.
I think it is time to pool resources with Russia, France, the Kurds and Iran to fight ISIS in Syria. Like Saudi Arabia and Pakisatan, Turkey has been funding terrorists to further its national security interests. All of the Paris attackers were in Turkey and the government has been laundering the revenue from ISIS petroleum operations.
I haven’t heard of any dancing in the streets of Ankara, over the downing of the Russian fighter. makes me think the average turk perhaps doesn’t see this as a really great idea. I always thought that air “rules of engagement” required actual ID of a bogey, absent them shooting at you, before you shot at them. seems like maybe some ground control officer screwed up. also, as close as Russia and turkey were getting, you’d think they could have called someone in Russia, and asked them if they (Ankara now claims it was two ruskie planes) were their fighters, and if so, ask them to back off their flight path a few miles. all this could have been done without shooting first.
with all the potential loss of business, I’m thinking the average turk is going to get pissed off if things get heated.
