Discussion: Puerto Rico Raises Hurricane's Official Death Count To 34

Normal death rate for developed countries is approx 8 per 1,000 per year, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortality_rate), so deaths per year in Puerto Rico (3.4 million people x 0.008) should be 27k, or 74 per day.

And that’s when things are just going along fine.

In 10 days since storm, disregarding hurricane related deaths, 740 people probably died. Given the sorry state of the hospital system, lack of ambulances, etc., how could anyone know how many of these were hurricane-related?

The 16 figure is a red herring. Makes no sense.

Trump: Its a miracle that anyone is alive in Puerto Rico. They dont pay their debt and are not white. White God just doesnt like them.

Looks like we are heading into comparisons to the Las Vegas shooting death toll. How will Trump spin this as less impressive?

When dark-skinned people die, does a conservative notice? Make the call for Black Lives Matter seem even more appropriate.
