Discussion: Public Defender Mysteriously Appointed In Butina Case

there is no way that “Butina’s boyfriend, American GOP political operative Paul Erickson” is accurate. That fat fuck was just getting a little honey for selling out his country to Putin. Red Maria will cut off his balls if it would help mother russia.

The thing is that most conservative men all think they are god’s gift to women, and overstate their desirability. See DJT and DJT, Jr. They are easily grifted.

A group of mysterious events shall henceforth be called a serious.

-edit- they changed the title, so my post no longer makes sense.

Is Moscow involved in her defense? Is she safer in or out of custody? If I were her, I would opt for the public defender.

Well, of course she needs a public defender. Have you seen the NRA’s balance sheet lately? It looks ghastlier than Donald Trump after a full night of rage-tweets.

But serious does rhyme with mysterious, so maybe she was going for that?

The National Rifle Association spent $30 million to help elect Donald Trump—more than any other independent conservative group. Most of that sum went toward television advertising, but a political message loses its power if it fails to reach the right audience at the right time. For the complex and consequential task of placing ads in key markets across the nation in 2016, the NRA turned to a media strategy firm called Red Eagle Media.

It is curious that various people are not charging to her defense including footing the bill. I suppose if Mother Russia did directly that would tip the hand. Considering the folks she spent time with, it is curious. Erikson does not strike me as stoic closed lip kind of guy as well.

Have to wonder if she screwed up and is considered damaged goods. Going home may not be an option. Going forward here is not an option.

Red Eagle Media, eh? Does their logo resemble either of these?

On a balance sheet level one of the worst things that can happen to the NRA is for their candidate to be elected…
They lose a bogeyman against whom they can fund raise…

Paul Erickson, who apparently has close ties to the NRA, received a target letter from prosecutors, I believe, in September. Perhaps this causes some sort of conflict of interest for Butina’s current lawyers?

In any case, we could be looking at each party blaming the other.

  1. At the very least run a spell check.

  2. Sounds like much confusion.

Not really, though. As long as there is anyone in government who thinks guns should be regulated, the NRA can scream about that person “coming for” the guns.

You never win by losing. The NRA’s candidates must be defeated, every time, in every election.

This is quite an interesting turn of events. I’m sure Rachel will be all over it. It’s probably not as sexy as it first appears, probably that explanation in the article itself is close to true (the whole conflict for her current attorney for some reason and the judge wanting to nip in the bud any motion later on to vacate a judgment…Yadda yadda yadda…)

So who is paying for her defense? Is it coming out of her “graduate studies” slush fund? I can see how pretty much anyone not her would be involved in a conflict there.
