I’m afraid this is more than one year too late… but still better than never.
I’m also curious about neurological issues, including dementia.
I understand that one can’t make a diagnoses of those problems without an examination, but isn’t it possible that there is enough evidence that a qualified clinician could say that Trump should be examined?
This is actually a small group compared to the larger American Psychiatric Association or the even larger American Psychological Association. It’s a meaningful crack in the wall but it would be huge if either of the latter two said “have at it, this is an emergency.”
I’ve read several articles by professionals who make the usual demurrals and then say what they’ve seen could be consistent with various diagnoses, and given the situation it’s concerning. Even within the Goldwater guidelines there’s a lot you can say about a person like Trump who’s shooting up flares basically all the time.
So now they can tell us what we already know from using our own eyes and ears. Still, I’m glad they made the move, and may it contribute to a growing tide that sweeps this menace from our midst.

The Boy Scouts of America issued a statement distancing itself from partisan politics after President Donald Trump…Trump broke with eight decades of tradition Monday.
I believe that along with releasing at least 10 years of tax returns, releasing a full medical record should also be a requirement for running for the pres. IMO those are not too much to ask, given the serious, consequential responsibilities of the office of the US president.
With those rules in place we might well have been able to avoid this whole mess in the first place…

Full medical record is too much to ask. All we need is a full medical report on the current health. This can include areas for concern, based on past history, family history, etc.
That’s nice, but they still have a ways to go to make up for inviting him in the first place. I know, tradition, but they knew what they were getting when they put him up in front of a bunch of young people.
That was not part of the BSA’s statement. That was Politico’s reporting. The statement from the Boy Scouts is weak and in no way addresses the fact that he cursed (albeit lightly) and lied to children. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Are they also free to offer their opinions as to the state of mind of T-Rump supporters? Does the term “mass hysteria” appear in the DSM?
