Sweat, baby, sweat.
Welp, this went well back in the “John Barron” days and I think it’s a golden oldie today:
More like, Lie, baby, lie.
The man is pathological.
Yet these Senators with the IG report in hand could not bring themselves to say to Pruitt, “based on the IG report you are lying to us and I recommend a contempt of Congress charge be brought against you”. It’s not hard when the facts are in your hand.
Pruitt’s paranoid 24/7 security detail reveals that he knows he is doing Evil for which punishment is deserved.
And yet Pruitt didn’t think that it was excessive. Did he ask to see the threat assessment? Was this Nino trying to grift money. I want names, damnit!
I remember when he was being questioned about the two aides who got HUGE raises: they work for an important person.
HE is the important person they worked for. It’s like he thinks of everything at a remove, in the third person.
“They” determined the Administrator needed the extra security (after “I/he” requested it). This is so circular it is just about nuts.
Came here to say this.
Why was the senator’s next statement not: “you are charger with contempt of congress for plainly lying to me just now.”
What am I not understanding here? Pruitt lies, they call him a liar, and he “I am rubber, you are glue”'s them and he gets away with it? Is this not lying to Congress? They are drawing opposite conclusions from a very short, very clear section of text. What gives? Is this “post-modern Marxism” a la JPeterson corrupting the erstwhile Senate?
