White issued a statement later in the day and said she would “welcome all of my constituents who would like to come and visit our office in the Texas State Capitol.”
Well well well. That’s a totally different tone than the one she took earlier today demanding blood oaths from Muslims saying they’d better renounce Islam and bow down before Israel before she will grace them with her special presence
(and yes, I am snarking on what she actually said but essentially she was making demands on them that I don’t think she does of her other constituents…)

No religion should “dominate” anywhere. Not Islam, not Judaism, not Christianity and certainly not redneck Jebus. The 1st amendment is as much about freedom from religion as it is free exercise thereof.

Of course, if I (you know, being atheist and all) interrupted one of her Jesus speeches in exactly that way (but with different words) she’d talk about how Christians were being persecuted and atheists were SOOOOOO fuckin rude and disrespectful and that it was wrong to question anyone’s beliefs.
What’s even funnier is the “by the grace of God” remark. Christians and Muslims believe in the same god!

So you are saying every last person wants to grab microphines and proceed to act like a brain dead asshat? I would disagree considering that right here at TPM we are among a crowd of posters who are better than that. Yes there are some outliers but in the main we are not like that lady in the article so i submit that the whole country is better than you think.
