Discussion: Prosecutors Won't Pursue Bridgegate Misconduct Charge Against Christie

I think Christie just heaved a whale-sized sigh of relief.

“But in Friday’s letter, prosecutors say they’ve examined the transcripts from the federal trial and have concluded they could not prove the charges sufficiently.”

Bullshit.

More likely prosecutors looked down the road and saw that giant orange retaliation machine coming and decided it was better to duck their heads and wait for it to blow over. Problem is, he wants to dig down and fuck up anyone who ever crossed him or one of his pals.

(Yes, I know they aren’t feds, but if they have any ambitions…)

Yeah, it seems pretty obvious they should at least present their evidence to a grand jury. Still, his political career is finished and I imagine it’ll be awhile before NJ elects another Republican.

Why would they be worried? He’s one of the least popular governors in the country, his party doesn’t control the legislature or the courts. Peepee humiliated him and then cut him loose, and he’s term limited from running for reelection next year. He’s in about as weak of a position as a governor can be.

And Trump’s son in law hates him.

I think this is more about doctors don’t call malpractice on doctors, cops don’t rat on other cops and prosecutors don’t prosecute prosecutors.

there are people who are sitting on death row that were convicted with less evidence than they had on Christy…this is bullshit and just goes to show there are different rules we play by in this land of the free and home to a bunch or right wing criminals

“Judge Bonnie Mizdol that the state does not believe it can prove official misconduct beyond a reasonable doubt and will not be bringing charges.”
Why not give it a try? They have already covicted 2 of his underlings, where there is smoke, there is fire.

Weasel words from the class of people that write the laws and see that they are interpreted to the benefit of their friends and themselves…justice is blind alright ,especially when you are part of the club…disgusting.

Thanks New Jersey. This is why we hate our government. You need to take a page from the Trump playbook and stop all immigrants from Sicily.

This is less about Christie being punished (as opposed to humiliated) and more about worrying what might come to light if he goes to trial. I suspect even the royal Son-In-Law doesn’t want to roll that dice.
