Discussion for article #243232
Life sentences for both of them. Literally “life.” None of this 500+ years nonsense. Life (untiltil death), no parole.
The 500 years “nonsense” might be a legal necessity because of state laws.
I know. My post was part rail against the nonsense of what “life” means. Common sense–at least by my reasoning–would dictate that “life” in this context would mean the remaining length of the convict’s life, natural or other (but not death penalty by the state).
WOW-that’s one set of PISSED OFF prosecutors!
How about captions on photos, Josh? Took me ten minutes to find out that it wasn’t a picture of of a “Man Who Kidnapped, Sexually Abused 2 Amish Girls,” as the headline immediately above it screams—rather it was St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin M. Wells briefing the press about the case in August of 2014. That was needlessly time-consuming and aggravating.
