Discussion: Prosecutors Seek 21-Month Sentence For Rand Paul's Neighbor In Yard Attack

I doubt if anyone in America, including the prosecutor, believes the attack was unprovoked. Thirty days seems to be about what anyone similarly situated would receive if they had simply assaulted a non-senator neighbor. The prosecutor is sucking up the the Senator. Unless the district judge wants to suck up too, my guess is the 30 day sentence remains in place.

That’s 30 days more than George Z got for murdering Trayvon Martin. Paul should shut up.

This story would really only be of interest if it were Rand Paul getting a 21-month sentence… The story of a Gooper seeking the harshest punishment possible for anyone who dare oppose them is nothing new. Jesus may have said “Turn the other cheek” but the Goopers never will.

(No, I am not trying to minimize Paul’s injuries, which were, of course senseless and stupid. But, as @thomasmatthew pointed out, in the big picture, there are major inconsistencies in the application of the rules of law – and the well-known usually end up coming out on top.)

That is 1 month for the actual attack and 20 months for not attacking Ted Cruz.

That turn the other cheek thing is one way Jesus revealed himself to be a damned liberal & ergo an enemy of the GOP. So forgiving is pretty much off Paul’s table.

I heard Boucher was running towards Paul to save him from a rabid squirrel mating with Paul’s hairpiece/rug and simply tripped!

Free Boucher!

Hardly “unprovoked” though.

A really useful sentence would 21 months of community service for the doctor.

Wasn’t making any argument that they weren’t…
