Malfeasance and crimes while in political office should be cause for a more serious punishment, NOT a more lenient sentence.
Bob McDonnell made history by becoming the first governor of Virginia to be convicted of a felony.
Let’s hope that this accomplishment is appropriately recognized through the awarding of the maximum sentence!
It’s something of a drop in the bucket, but in recent years, it is notable to me that some number of leading pols have got in trouble for corruption, multiple times getting jail time. There is at least some bite there.

Everyday that passes he is thinking about freedom without any consideration for what he was found guilty for. Soon both those roads are going to come to an intersection and there is no red light.

not that I care, but I hope he got his financials in order. His kids would be shocked if they had to get jobs to survive.
Two Questions: Why is influence pedaling being prosecuted only in this case when it is practiced by virtually every Republican and easily half the Democrats in public office? Why didn’t the citizens of Virginia feel they were entitled to better government?
