Sounds like a great idea to those who hope to divide and conquer.

“California would break into three states — Northern California, California and Southern California.”

Couldn’t they just break off Fresno and call it good?

The only people who think California is ungovernable are Republicans and business people who can’t force the government into the shape they want. There is a reason that the state is dominated by Democrats, the past few years have shown that Democrats get the job done and have make the state far better than when Republicans were blocking everything and holding the state back. There’s no reason for this change, CA has problems but it’s in a far better state than most of the red states in the US economically, and better than almost all of the states in terms of the treatment of human beings.

California has become “nearly ungovernable” because of its diverse economies and population.
By that token, the US must then be broken up into what, 50 countries?

I have a much better idea. California buys Arizona. It’s summer, the prices should be reasonable.

Can you imagine the water wars if this were to happen?

Yeah - It was only ungovernable while the GOP was able to keep the Democrats from having a super majority. Once that stranglehold was broke, it’s been much easier.

If we split CA into three (not gonna happen), can we put the Dakotas back together? And maybe Wyoming and Idaho while we’re at it.

I assume this campaign is being financed and directed by the Kremlin?

A most excellent idea. Consolidate all the mid-western and western states with low populations, say 1 combo-state for each third of California’s population. That way, while the rural areas governed by rubes would have say 2 senators for their current 10, California would only be contributing 2 additional rural senators and the US would be gaining 2 additional cosmopolitan senators (says the back of my envelope).

Wow. 3% less than the percentage of Republicans who think Obama is the Anti-Christ.

Damn - if only Barack had had all the power they ascribed to him…

There will be water wars anyway.

I assume that Trump and Sessions are hoping to bring at least two of these states into the union as slave states?

And we won’t have to travel half-way 'round the world to get to them, neither!
