It defies logic Moser would have such a limited number of states falling under that umbrella. There must be at least around 20 states in the "hammer slammed into my elbow" or "sex with a rabid wolverine" category.She lost by 1700 votes. Why the DCCC continues to indulge this woman is a mystery. The DNC and DCCC need to grow up and boot the Bernie bros and girls who will not toe the line out of the Party. Enough is enough.
Dems lost out on a good candidate in Jason Weston. I think his potential vote was split too many ways and Moser staked out ground as the Berner candidate appealing to upscale parts of this district and got into the run off. I would expect a majority of the voters from the #3 and #4 candidates - Weston and Alex T would support Lizzie Pannill Fletcher…at least I hope.
I’m not a fan of Moser. I don’t think she can win that district and I don’t think her message is good for the party. It’s more of a leftist grievance politics that turns its guns on the amorphous establishment as much as it does on the Republicans. That’s not the message that has been winning for Dems in the past year. Fletcher embodies the spirit of what has been getting us wins. I hope voters in the district see that.

So, the most damning thing the oppo-research guys could find was “she once said something disparaging about Texas”? No ties to Russia? No sex with children? No photos dressed in NAZI garb?

Moser was a Clinton supporter, not a Sanders supporter.
And she didn’t say that she’d rather have her teeth pulled than live in Texas. She said she’d rather have her teeth pulled than live in her home town of Paris, Texas, which is not remotely where she’s running for Congress.
The only thing that booting Berniecrats (or Clintonistas) out of the Party will get us is decades more of Republican rule. Fantasists on either side of the divide who think we can get by with only one wing of the party should be diligently ignored.
My theory is the Republican party is going senile before its final demise. And the Democratic party is becoming the New Right.
If the Democrats were smarter they could hasten the process by creating a new farther left party. That would give the Bernie Bros a place of their own, and demonstrate the mainstrem-ness of the Democrats. They’d be able to point and say “those are the uber-liberals over there, we’re the good ole centrists, and also not those crazy right-wing Republicans.”
Actual Texas Democrats put Moser in a runoff. The skittish folks are the idiots at the DCCC.
How about the Berniacs create their own Party? Rather than demanding that an already established political Party create a niche for them.

Unfortunately for Moser they don’t live in Texas.
This is rich! When people to the left of the Democratic establishment run as independents or third party candidates, establishment Democrats, with some justification, accuse of us of “spoiling.” Now that we’re challenging Democratic primaries, you demand we go away.
But here’s the bottom line: look at Clinton’s vote and Sanders’s vote in 2016. Clinton won a majority of primary votes, but Sanders won a very substantial minority. Between forty and forty-five percent of Democratic voters supported Sanders. The Democratic Party cannot win without us…nor without Clinton supporters, of course.
Do the math. Asking us Berniecrats to go away is insane and a recipe for Republican victory. Rather than wishing away forty percent of our party’s support, perhaps we should be thinking about ways to get us all to work together despite our differences.
Pretty clearly, the DCCC running nasty oppo research against a Clintonista who they think is too progressive for her district isn’t the answer.
I really don’t give a crap what Moser’s opinion is of Texas, except to the extent it affects her electability. If her snide comment is going to result in the Republicans holding a seat that can be flipped, then kick her to the curb.
I voted for Westin whose campaign literature opened with support for single payer. And now I’ll vote for Fletcher because taking this seat means winning at the ballot box. As much as I might viscerally agree with Moser, I see political change as incremental unless you’re actually going to the barricades.

The problem is that Moser didn’t say that about Texas, but the DCCC is on record lying that she did so. How’s that going to help her “electability” if she wins the nomination? If Moser gets the nomination and loses the race, part of the blame will go to the DCCC, who have both boosted her chances in the primary and written her opponent’s campaign for them.
