Discussion: Pro-Choice Group Wants GOPer To Share Thoughts On Group That Backed Todd Akin

Discussion for article #228917

To be frank, when I read Ernst was being linked to this group because they endorsed her, I was like, meh. So what. We can’t control who endorses us.
But then I get to this:

Ernst, who is running against Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA), has touted being endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund.

As such, I think it’s fair game for NARAL to point out what type of ideals this group believes in.Ernst opened that door, thus inviting the scrutiny.

You can tell that this isn’t an AP article because it didn’t once mention that Ernst is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Iowa National Guard. Well done, Daniel.

Yeah, isn’t she chief trucker with the In-the-rear-with-the-gear Brigade, which is a close relative to the “droppin’ lawsuits from way behind the lines” JAG division that “Fightin’ Lindsey” belongs to?

If you’ve followed any of Joni Ernst’s campaign, you know that she is a heady amalgam of Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, Michele Bachmann, Louis Gohmert, and Sarah Palin.

But without any of the charm or the intellectual prowess.

We can hope that women will use the privacy of the voting booth to go for their self interests.

I think that Braley should say at the next debate that Ernst is a nice conservative Christian woman who supports anti abortion amendments and will probably focus on these issues in the Senate, but I believe that Iowa is best served by someone like me who will focus on Iowa voter’s economy and wages.

Yes, but you can’t disparage those who move the gear from the rear to the front. That is the sharp end of the logistical supply line, I don’t know if Ernst participated in convoys or not, but delivering the ammo, fuel, and other supplies to the front is qualitatively and quantitatively different from sitting in South Carolina briefing airmen on the rules of war, especially when one of the main weapons of choice is the roadside IED…

Logistical supply is one of the most important factors in successful warfare, as exemplified by the famous “Red Ball Express” following the Normandy landings in 1944.

Like many features of WW II the exploits of the Red Ball Express were commemorated with a movie:

You’ll note in the very small print on the movie poster the name of Sidney Poitier who got a role because the real Red Ball Express was operated primarily by African-American soldiers and Hollywood threw in a small sop to reality.

Oh so the message plays better from a “castrating” female than an ill-informed man…? She’s got more problems than that, the Tea Party’s “popularity” has dropped to a new low recently…only about 18% (the really hard core racist’s, far right Christians and freeloading Sovereign Citizen militia’s, etc. are the America haters, now) Joni Ernst is a Tea Bagger extraordinaire… next election in 2016, will wipe them out completely
