Oh, I thought this was going to be a story about criminals masquerading as ICE.
I saw a police car exactly like that in our town the other day! Driver’s side door was blank, I presume because of a repair. Only in our case, the part of the word missing was “PO” instead of “POL.” With the consequence that the car was driving around with “LICE” printed on its side.
Which is better! Lots of people are scared of ICE, but no-one is afraid of the LICE patrol.
“Princeton, New Jersey, police are trying to ease fears after some people raised concerns about a patrol vehicle that has ICE on its door.”
“First responders were overwhelmed when panicked locals jammed emergency lines in frenzied response. ‘This is awful,’ lamented Mrs. Thurston Whitebread IV, ‘I just sent invitations for the GOP fundraiser at the Christie’s!’ But by late afternoon, fears had faded of an unthinkable future devoid of fearful, hard-working nannies, housekeepers, cooks, and landscapers who would work for slave wages without benefits.”
What happens if an ice delivery truck goes by? Will people think it’s a ICE paddy wagon?
If they put the wrong half of the decal on the front door, it will say ICE ICE, baby.
That’s not so bad. A few decades back, i saw a water tower at the Virginia Electric Opossum Point Power Station being painted with the utility’s name on it. The paint crew could only paint so many letters wide at a time, so they started with Virginia Opossum Power, and then moved over to paint Electric Point Station.
