Dear Goopers: You break it, you own it.
The only conundrum for Tom Price is how to optimize the grift for him and his buds and maximize the damage for American consumers who don’t have powerful friends and donors. To think that this guy is supposed to weave his way through this and actually end with a good result for everyone is…sorry, words are failing me right now.
The problem was that Obama decided to carry water for the Goopers by basing his plan on the private insurance market and the blueprint devised at the Heritage Foundation. This was his so-called bipartisanship notion. Hopefully, that is now dead. Had he even been the slightest bit progressive, and could even think in a small way from a strategic political POV, he would have had the Dems pass Medicare For All and allowed the private insurers to pick up the supplemental coverage most middle class Medicare recipients now must purchase to cover the 20% of coverage not covered by Medicare. The current plan is perhaps better than nothing but is still a real boondoggle, not to mention wasteful since these private insurers are allowed a 20% overhead budget (read as dividend payments to shareholders) over and above actual payouts for treatment. Medicare’s overhead is 5%. In an interview with David Sirota, Obama actually expressed concern for the loss of clerical jobs in the private insurance industry as one of the issues he was wrestling with as he moved forward on a health care plan. So I guess you understand, I am not a big Obama fan. One hope might be that the Goopers will end up on the short end in 2018 and the Dems could have another time at bat to bring about Medicare for All. It should also do something to cover the large minority population who were left out in the cold by the poorly thought through Obamacare plan to force states to pick up the tab for Medicaid down the road. That was the Roberts court ruling and was inline with past court decisions. The Dems failed even to have the legal expertise to see that one coming. It now looks like the Goopers and Trump will even be less adept. One can only hope.
What to do-what to do?
It isn’t just that the Repubs have no replace plan, it’s they don’t want to replace…really
Even these goobers could make tweeks for the better if that were the ultimate plan but, alas, it is not. They seek to destroy, they are on a mission from God and God no likey human interference with his savings plan.
The Republicans are either the lamest group of lawmaking representatives ever or are stupid and incapable. You choose. America has been in desperate need of an ACA type of health plan for since forever and ‘all of a sudden’ the Repubs are aware and on it. Yeah…foocking right…
They are trying to work out a sales pitch that sticks the dick in in deep to all of us, from the rear, with the added benefit of us liking and asking for it.
It’s…Not…Happening. It just ain’t. It just won’t. It’s horseshit. Bullpucky. Dog Doo.
The bigger lie.
Believe at your own peril.
