The chances Trump makes deal with NK almost exactly mimicking Obama’s deal with Iran:

About zero.

When does “walking it back” become “tacitly admitting that your boss is a liar?”

Anyone else think this guy is being played?

Somewhere in the middle of this word-fog, I’d say:

At a press briefing Monday, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl asked about Trump’s tweet. “Where did they [agree to denuclearize]?” he asked. “Have they already agreed to do that?”

“Certainly in a number of the conversations, including the comments I would refer you back to,” Sanders said, without specifying which comments she was referencing. “Also, South Korean President Moon, who has said that North Korea has expressed a will for complete denuclearization, and certainly that’s the focus of any conversation and negotiation that the United States will have with North Korea.”

They agreed in numerous instances I won’t specify, and we heard something about it and it’s a thing we’re talking about, aren’t we, so it must be a thing oh look a squirrel.

Uh, yeah.

So would this be another mission that got accomplished?

Yeah, and if that happened, and the Generals and Admirals explained it to Trump, he’d plunge blindly ahead instead of correcting his ignorance induced mistake.

Because regardless of his intelligence or lack of, he remains an unmitigated a hole. He would’ve fit right in with the world leaders of the day back in 1914.

One would fervently hope that one or more of those Generals and Admirals would impress Trump with the impossibility of that kind of action, you know, tell him NO, you can’t and won’t do that.

Just another delusional tweet from Orange Julius Caesar; can we please stop reporting on nonsensical, fact-free “news”?

Pressed On Trump Tweet, WH Offers No Proof NK Has ‘Agreed To Denuclearization’

C’mon…this isn’t even a story until every reporter starts their report with "Today, President Trump lied to the American people again when he said… "

NOBODY expects there to be proof for ANYTHING Trump tweets.

What if they just double down? By this time next tomorrow, we could have the orange 30% believing that NK has actually given up nukes, and Fox discussing whether the Nobel will arrive immediately or he’ll have to wait, while the rest of us are relegated to standing in the corner pointing sadly toward reality.

No one would believe what’s happening here if it was in a movie. It’s really quite terrifying.

I would add that NK will never give up nuclear weapons. No country in human history has ever done so.

And if Trump follows through with his threats to unilateral withdraw from the Iran-nuclear deal in early May, it will only confirm to NK (and the world) that any agreement made with Trump or his “administration” is 100% worthless.

Not only that, it will take generations to restore trust in the US’s word on anything.

For Trump, it is the Fibber Dance!

Note my cynicism when it comes to Trump and Kim actually applying brain cells and doing something for the good of it. But for Trump, this is about the only thing, and I mean only, that he might be able to hang his hat on. It is a distraction through and through. The only deep thinking going on here is in Russia.

“The President wants to do what is in the best interest of our country, and even in the world, and particularly having North Korea and the Korean Peninsula free of nuclear weapons, I think is a good thing for everybody.”

And the implied subtext of that? Because donnie supposedly wants to save the world from flying north Korean death bombs, we should let him do anything he wants (two scoops a day), stop picking on him in the media (so unfair), and vote for republicans instead of Democrats (obstructionists).

Most specifically, we should also let him proceed in these Korean negotiations without any scrutiny, because as long as he wants to be successful, his methods - even if likely to engender failure - don’t matter (and he’s the very, very most beautiful deal maker ever).

That means they agree to give up all their nukes when the US gives up theirs. Which is a very easy concession to make. It will take some time for the “very stable genius” to figure out how come the NKs are being so generous.

McMaster realized that, during briefings, Trump “wasn’t absorbing a fucking thing he said,” a friend reported.

Everything that needs to be conveyed to the President must be boiled down, the former staffer said, to “two or three points, with the syntactical complexity of ‘See Jane run.’ ”
