I have to believe there is a statute against witness tampering in the face of an anticipated FBI interview.
Jennifer Willoughby, an ex-wife of former White House aide Rob Porter who has come forward with allegations of domestic abuse
Brave woman.
Porter asked her this week to “downplay” her accusations.
Coward.
Did Porter commit a crime by attempting to interfere with an FBI investigation?
It’s a shame, really, that these domestic abuse charges are going to stop his real work in the WH.
Which consists of facilitating abuse on the vast majority of the American people.
Porter should have followed Trump’s playbook with Ivana and offered her more money to backpedal her previous comments.
Maybe Hicks deserves it.
There is a conservative Harvard professor who was a mentor to Bill Kristol and Tom Cotton. He posits a “great men” theory of history where these individuals (presumably Harvard educated) have much more decisive influence than “the masses.” I am certain that this great men theory posits that all great men have foibles such as philandering and drinking and an occasional incident of abuse of spouse or mistress , or being a totally unloving absentee parent, and that these foibles should be overlooked and considered a necessary sacrifice given the great importance of these anointed leaders.
While my sense is that Hope Hicks has very bad judgement when it comes to men, nobody ever deserves to be verbally or physically abused. I assume that you were not being literal in suggesting that, but even in jest it is an unfortunate suggestion.
yeah, he’s a real man of integrity, aye General?
So this story was just sitting there in public for the past year?
Rob Porter’s request “to downplay” the allegations is but one of the symptoms of a classic abuser.

I had to laugh the other day when some one on Twitter suggested that there be equity in texting. If the two FBI lovers texts are fair game, then why shouldn’t the probable existence of tests between Porter and Hope Hicks be open for examination, too.[/quote] My thoughts exactly. Sexting would be icing on the cake.
She might like it. Or she might look at it as a career opportunity with the Trump Gremlin (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kremlin) White House. I presume she knows what she is signing up for.
Still trying to control her.
It really SOUNDS like an abuser that would go to his ex wife to ask her to ‘downplay’ the accusations has learned his lesson. Oh yeah.
I have no warm fuzzies for Hicks but even so i would not wish that on her. Hope, you had best RUN away as fast as you can.
So this man with no security clearance, known impulse control problems and violent predilections has been handling the most sensitive intel this country has to offer. His departure follows these men/women
*the guy who was dismissed for lying to the VP, but actually for being a foreign agent
*the one who went on a cussing streak to a reporter
*the guy who could only travel by private jet at taxpayer expense
*the Hungarian right wing wacko
*the dissolute with the big mouth who seems to want to burn everything down
*the weepy woman nobody could ever figure out what her job was
*the press guy who became a laughing stock
And so many more! How many still don’t have security clearances due to little foibles like domestic abuse and being agents of foreign countries or - looking at you Jared - being objects of attempts to compromise by foreign countries? The president runs an insane asylum. On purpose.
He could’ve used the “Missouri Method” and dug up some old photos…
I have never met a woman who is dating a known domestic abuser. Why would she stay on? To heal his ways? I suppose that is why a woman stays in a relationship where is being abused.
