Discussion: Pope Meets With US Clergy Sex Abuse Victims

Discussion for article #241078

Finally, finally, finally, the leader of the Catholic Church is doing something about its biggest moral failure - after decades of denying it even existed.

Bless you, Pope Francis, for this and your message of service to the poor. I hope you have shamed world leaders into paying attention to their own moral failings.

Well, I hope there´s justice. Up till now the only class that´s been as protected as abusive priests and the bishops who protect them has been Wall Street bankers.

Pope Francis is not perfect, none of us are. But this man is a true leader. Something which the world sorely needs.

I’ll believe it when Cardinal Law touches down in Boston.

Francis has decided to create a new Vatican tribunal to prosecute bishops who failed to protect their flock by covering up for pedophile priests rather than reporting them to police.

That squinchy noise you hear are priestly butt-holes puckering!

There is still something huge missing. I don’t the count of church abused victims but there is a lot and like cops, these priests are supposed to be held to the highest standards not creating the lowest.

This crime by the church is not paid nearly enough attention to, just stop and think about the reality of what they were, probably still are, doing and for how long. It doesn’t get much more vile or disgusting and then the Pope goes in and counsels prisoners rather than outing all of the criminals under his watch and sending them to prison. Pretty much proving that talk is cheap.

Delayed justice is a great injustice.
