Discussion: Poll: Trump Crushing Rubio In Florida

Discussion for article #246456

Looking forward to seeing Rubio’s celebratory 2nd place speech in Miami after Trump beats him in FL by double digits.

I knew that this was going to happen months ago. When it was clear that Rump was rising in the polls, FL would be one of the states he would do very well in. Good thing JEB is out now because he would have been even more humiliated than he already was.

Trump doing well a state populated by the perpetually drunk who believe that the law should let you shoot anyone you think looks threatening?

I’ll try to contain my shock…

I think Trump makes the electoral math in the general election much more difficult than a Rubio or Jeb (and I don’t think FL would be a given for either of them). Trump’s base of old, angry, white people make up a lot of the populace of FL, not to mention PA and I think he even puts NY in play (not likely to win it, but it will be far closer than Dems are used to).

Cruz polling at 12%? The world cheers. Now if only he and the rest of the GOP field would quit we’d all be better off.

Yep, as a native NY’er, I can tell you he WILL win the NY Republican primary if ONLY because upstate NY is much more sympathetic to what Rump is peddling. Downstate, in NYC, that’s a different story. I agree, he’ll definitely take PA with maybe Kasich coming in second.

If the stories of Rubio’s personal finances are even remotely true, and they will get greater scrutiny if he becomes the nominee, it is going to be devastating for him.

New York? In the general election? Not happening. Upstate NY will vote for him, but NYC will carry it for Clinton/Sanders.

Apologies I think wasn’t quite being clear. I think Trump will absolutely win the GOP primary in NY and PA, my comment was that I think he puts PA and NY in play in the general election as well, against either Democrat.

So when does the fat lady sing?

Micro Rubio - his quest continues apace…

Yeah. There is a reason why Rubio declined to run for re-election to the Senate. He knew he was likely to lose.

Don’t forget the “poor people”.

Sometime between the 8th and 15th of March all of the Donald Trump deniers will finally wake up to the realization that it’s all true. He’s getting the nomination and their is nothing anyone can do to stop it. The only question is: Will this punishment be restricted to the Republican Party or extended to the United States as a whole?

Remember, those who elect Donald Trump deserve Donald Trump. Karma’s a bitch people.

Only 28% of Republicans want to vote for their own senator?? I am beginning to hear it cueing up already: “Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, goodbye!”

Rubio was always running for VP, despite what his sugar daddies wanted. He will be on the ticket.

Here’s my honest question (not snark): if he were chosen, what does he bring to the ticket?

What state would that be? I live in Florida and there is nothing like that here.

Today in the NYT:

Though most in the Republican establishment are hoping for the dust to settle and for Senator Marco Rubio to emerge as their nominee — his Capitol Hill endorsements stack up daily — some still murmur privately that in the event of Mr. Trump’s nomination, they would like to see Mr. Ryan emerge as a brokered nominee at the Republican National Convention in July.

The Quakerman, on January 22:

OK, I’m going out on the longest, flimsiest limb here, but if I’m right, I want to be able to point to the proof:

On January 22, 2016, your Quakerman says the GOP nominee for president will be…Paul Ryan.
