Discussion: Poll Shows Kobach, Kelly In Dead Heat In Kansas Governor Race

C’mon Kansas, don’t embarrass yourself.

Alabama is nervous that you’re creeping up on them.

So there is a small chance Kansas dosen’t want to cut their own throat?

You’d think George Soros could spare a little scratch to get Orman out of this thing.

Come on Kansan’s show that you are recognizing the bad faith with which the extremists in the GOP work to use your state as a test tube for testing some of the most egregious Randian and anti-democracy ideologies.

I want to know who’s funding/pushing Orman. I assume it’s GOP ratfuckers.

“The Kansas governor’s race is in a dead heat with only five weeks left before Election Day…”

Surely, America’s out-of-control pandemic of voter fraud will guarantee a Democratic victory.

I mean, the millions of illegal aliens bused in from New Hampshire, alone, should clinch it.

Right?

Lets be fair to Alabama, they did elect Doug Jones… I would argue they were already ahead of Kansas…

The good thing about this poll - which is getting a lot of media play in Kansas, is that it shows that a vote for Greg Orman is a vote for Kobach. It was a tricky race since Orman was the candidate 4 years ago, so convincing his supporters to give up on him and vote for the “D” is the key thing that needs to happen. This poll helps send that message…

Hopefully the Orman supporters will realize that they are throwing their votes away and helping Kobach by voting for Orman. I wonder how many of them voted for Jill Stein. If a lot of them did, it is probably hopeless for their to do the right thing. They will retain their ideological purity at all costs.

Excellent point, that puts even more pressure on Kansas!

The only thing that even begins to make sense to me is that Orman thinks he’s pulling more votes from Kobach than Kelly.

Kelly is just now getting up on the air with ads tying Kobach to Brownback. Brownback is held in very low esteem by Kansans of all political stripes, except the folks named Koch.

Tell me about this Kobach character (I’m across the pond, in England). I know I could find out, but TPM commentators are always the best informed.

If the Dems take the House and Senate, Beto beats Rafael and Kobach loses my orgasm may cause heart failure.

Love child of Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson.

Or he is a raving ego maniac (see e.g. Eliot Cutler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_gubernatorial_election,_2014)

Outside of a few situations in which the major party candidate stands down, third party runs almost always throw the election to the party on the other side. When it was Ross Perot I liked the results, but the problem is hurting “us” now.

Shows how f***ing stupid half of Kansas still is.

This is what he is. It is a vanity campaign pure and simple. Orman has plenty of dough, some silly half-baked Libertarian notions, and a massive ego demanding to be fed. That said, I think there is a chance he pulls votes from Kobach as much as from Kelly. At least I hope that is the case.

Depressing

Kansas must really want to have its farmers raided by ICE for all the undocumented immigrants working for them. (See the Esquire story on Devin Nunes’ farm in Iowa where the farmer/owners are freaking out about being exposed for their hypocrisy.)

Kansas must really want to give up their Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare and have no hope of having the ACA protect them in the years ahead…because that’s the GOP game plan.

Hey Kansas, if you believe pre-existing conditions should be covered under your healthcare at no added cost to you, you’d be a fool to vote for anyone in the GOP no matter what they promise you. They will not protect you from taking away your safety net. So, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
