Close enough to steal.

In all fairness, Republicans wouldn’t be so crooked and dishonest if the public didn’t continually reward them for it.

Looking at this poll and it shows the EV lead for Ossoff has narrowed to about 9 points, but has good leads among Indies, unaffiliated, Dems, AAs. His numbers on Election Day voters have gone up. Gonna be tight. The average of all polls taken this month is O +1. The average of the early vote comes to O+13. It comes down to what the overall turnout will be. 140,000 voted early already. 192k voted in Round 1. 326k voted in '16. District has 530k voters. So a 50% turnout would be 265k. From what I can glean, turnout is expected to be above 200k but no one is willing to say above 250k. So it is quite possible that there are more early voters than Election Day voters for this particular election.

It feels like a lot more GOP have voted early in the last week which may have upped Handel’s vote share from 47 to 48, but there may be some vote cannibalization/vote shifting going on.

In a sense a lower turnout election could benefit Ossoff. If he has a lead, and Handel’s vote has shifted to the EV and Ossoff’s share of the e-day vote goes up, then I think he wins. However, I would think that if the total vote got to 265k or above, Handel would be favored.

It’ll be a long night but that early vote should tell us something within the first 2 hours.

The fact that this race is so close in an area with supposedly educated Republican voters is all the proof I need that the Republican party is a national dead-end. All those well-off, highly-educated Georgia conservatives are looking at the current state of affairs and thinking, “Yeah, we just need another Republican in Washington and everything will be dandy.”

There is no point in going after Republican votes at this juncture of American history. The whole party s rotten. Not a one of them will put country before partisanship.

Georgia on my mind…

Living in the area I can tell you those people aren’t changing in the least- the influx of people to the area are not homegrown GA- there is a quickly growing Asian demographic.

Dear Georgia Dems, progressives, left-leaning independents, etc. - Please, please, please show up and vote for Ossoff. Drive your friends, family, and neighbors to the polls and encourage them to vote for Ossoff. This is too important to sit out.

I take a slightly different message from this. In an area with supposedly educated Republican voters, it shouldn’t be this close. It should be an Ossoff landslide. The fact that supposedly reasonable Republicans are still wedded to Trump is alarming and appalling. What horrors would the GOP have to commit to lose these voters?

" What horrors would the GOP have to commit to lose these voters?"

I’ve asked myself this a million times over the years. Shows how culture trumps all.

A modest tax increase.

We are most likely going to lose this race.

Feel better now?

Why? Should I?

The closer this race seems, the more I hope that Mr. Mueller has binders of indictments waiting to be served on the Drumpf crime family.

I wish Democrats would stop trying to persuade the GOP. These people are irredeemable. Just think about it.

The GOP is full of cold warriors but they have no problem with a presidential candidate/president who plays footsie with the Soviets.

Republicans are free-traders to their core but support a president who wants to block all trade agreements.

Republicans have long claimed to be staunch Christians but chose a thrice-divorced, sexual assault thug who doesn’t know a collection plate from a communion plate.

“Freedom” is at the heart of GOP doctrine but embrace an authoritarian, despot-in-the-making.

Republicans love America and law enforcement but are OK which this guy dissing America as a loser country, giving highly classified INFO to the Russians and trashing the FBI and all intelligence agencies.

IOW, Republicans would vote for a blind mule with the clap if he had an “R” by his name. Fuck 'em!

Isn’t that the whole point of being a Debbie Downer?

Well since that is not what I am…

My point is that if we can’t win after spending $30 million against a candidate who said on television that they “don’t believe in a livable wage” then we are in for serious problems in the foreseeable future (worse than the status quo).

That Ossoff is not up by a solid double digits in the “swingiest” of swing districts is not at all a positive sign.

I will gladly eat a heaping-healping of crow if he wins tomorrow. And ask for seconds.

But not going to pretend that this is a good sign and sing a bunch of happy horsehsit.

Trump: No matter how much I fuck up, Republicans will NEVER leave me. White Power.

Hopefully, Ossoff’s early votes margin is bigger than what polls are saying.
