Discussion: Poll: McConnell Widens Lead Over Dem Lundergan Grimes

Yeah that was so lame

Assuming your avatar is Portland OR, I’ll say first I love your city and its politics and its former mayor who flashed poster from under a raincoat, and OR’s vote by mail, but at bottom, yours is the city that recognizes and cherishes liberals.
But Wiki tells me Corker ran a race baiting campaign against Ford, and that turned the tide red.

We all know very well why republicans hate the president and have withheld cooperation and in fact turned up the hyper partisanship, but “darkie” even to those of us who call him The Black Man is a step too far over the racist edge and worse it’s not witty in the least.

You mean Corker, right? He confirms it every time he opens his yap.

  1. Grimes is slitting her own wrists by refusing to campaign on health care.

  2. NBC/Marist seems to have changed their voter screen; a whole bunch of races they’re polling have shifted Republican rather sharply.

Oops. My bad re: Majority Leader. Need coffee. Anyway, I hope you are correct.

McConnell has not won the election until the votes are cast and counted.

While I do not question the validity of the Marist Poll I wonder why a small liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, NY is trying to keep their name in the news by having a polling operation. I hope the kids who make the phone call get paid. And if any newspapers subscribe maybe the kid get a brake on tuition. Just saying.

Yeah, I’ve seen her interviewed several times, and it’s the same every time. I can almost recite what her answer is going to be before she gives it, because it’s always the same campaign key phrases every single time.

Yeah; when you’re playing not to lose, it’s almost always fatal.

This poll is a farce. NBC received this poll from a group called KYGOP. The race is actually very close. It’s the GOP up to their old tricj of skewing the polls to make McConnell look good. This to me says desperation.

are you not paying attention to what is going on.? no, apparently your not. dems are getting ready to pick up seats in red states in both houses. before you comment and make ridiculous statements, you might want to try educating yourself about the races. Your ignorance is showing

Ha. You know ‘removing’ Obama will only make Biden the Prez, right?

And impeachment doesn’t even automatically remove a sitting President - that’s a whole secondary process. But if you did get rid of Obama - it doesn’t somehow make Romney the winner or allow the GOP their choice.
Nope. Joe Biden, who has historically proven to be more liberal than Obama, will have the reigns.

So, please, just try it. It’s a win-win for us Libs - and a boondoggle-no-matter-the-outcome for you Conservos.

The word in Spanish is “desanimar”

That’s it. I don’t have to talk anymore…

O.K…I’ll go on. Some people, when they are fed things designed to discourage, wring their hands, cry and whimper and, ultimately, give up.

My wife (a person who is extremely spiritual) has surmised that what the Dominicans call “Tutumpotes” (Big Shots) in the Media, in the Corporate Sector, etc, have decided that it is Good Business to start discouraging Democrats.

If I were a typical Democrat, I would give up, pitch a tent in a village in Chiapas and Let the Kochs Run The Country (as planned)

And that’s the difference. As much as I despise Republicans, the way that they are wired is that they crave fighting. They respond to “hopelessness” (which is what this story is all about, isn’t it?) with renewed energy, not handwringing and about 1,000,000 sighs across the nation saying, “Well, that’s it. McConnell has already won an election two months away”. When Mr. Obama won the Presidency in 2008 the Republican Party was at a very low ebb in popularity.

Their reponse? The biggest Republican Congressional victory in decades. What would Democrats have done in similar circumstances?

This just in: 6 out of 10 Kentuckians can’t spell “potential.”

And O’Donnell was totally on board with the whole thing.

It was like watching one of those infomercials where one person plays an interviewer and asks pathetic basic questions to the miracle cure peddler while they both just read off teleprompters - pretending it’s an interview.

It was skeevy for O’Donnell to be involved in the setup at all - but boy she came off so phoney and lame.

They don’t call this Cretins constituency Hillbillies for nothing…they’ve voted for this dumbass because they don’t no any better…

There seem to be a lot of pretense interviews on O’Donnell and it disappoints me every time out. Among others he interviews where you can count on it happening is Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, an organization I admire but who brings no passion or enthusiasm to the opportunity to make her pitch.

What he said!
