Discussion: Poll: Majority of Americans Think Trump Meddled In Russia Probe

Nixon had 28% support the day he resigned. So you can safely lop that off the “Trump didn’t do anything wrong” percentage.

That number would say Trump was right to throw babies into a wood chipper live on television.

It pains me to see that a majority of Americans find “leaks” worse than the underlying malfeasance. Would people prefer that career officials and right-thinking personnel standing by the levers of power keep their concerns to themselves and keep their mouths shut so that we wouldn’t know what’s going on? Insider leaks are for the most part the foundation of journalistic intelligence about our government. People don’t seem to grasp this concept. Ask folks to look at the current scandal swirling around the government, and explore the opposite scenario: what if all of this were going on and we were to have no idea about it? Where would our democracy be then? Making the problem all about “leaks” dishonestly plays upon he public’s natural tendency to honor the workplace chain of command to the exclusion of getting at truth. This was on display at the Sessions hearing when some folks sympathized with a non-existent privilege to keep unclassified presidential conversations private.

Of course the majority believes he meddled in the probe. Isn’t that part of his deal making? He is just trying to negotiate his way out of a troubling situation. This is normal for him. That’s why his base believes he is doing no wrong. My humble opinion…anyway.

I have Trump’s approval ‘floor’ pegged at 30% +/- Error. I think someone here at TPM referred to this as his ‘Keynes Number’ or something like that.

Trump will always have his 30% zombies and he is welcome to them. The real news is how fast he is sliding down the hole. Amazing. Sad.

21% is the Keyes Constant (aka “crazification” factor)

Of course Trump meddled. When mueller is done it’ll be corroborated by many high ranking members of Trump’s “administration”.

The floor will be at about 30% until the economy goes into recession. When that happens, Trump will lose his GOP Congress and right wing media defenders. They’ll try to blame Trump to save GOP politicians.

Come on. There are still reports of people claiming they caught a computer virus. That kind of stupidity is rampant in the US. I sometimes think they must teach it in Sunday School.

This story was from 2012 so the percent may be down to 45% now, but of course much higher in red states.

“I guess you feel like you just need to trust your president,” said Richardson, a retiree from Meade County, Kentucky. “He just knows more about it than I do.”

He knows nothing, and you show yourself to be a lazy, irresponsible voter. You and your ilk are the reason we have a lying, thieving fool in our Oval Office.

“The remaining Americans, cold and confused, are huddled inside Ken Bone’s sweater for warmth.”

Conservatives love big government.

Liberals should never again act defensive or apologize for wanting a robust government that provides the best for all citizens and leads the world in the cause of liberty.

Head first or feet first?

Well yeah a majority. All the ones that voted for him which was a pretty big majority and now add the ones that are waking up to realize he really is the shit he always seemed to be and is.
