Discussion: Poll: Ex-Con Coal Baron Dropping In West Virginia Senate Race

Manchin is a Democrat not R-WV.

Correct, even though sometimes it does get kind of hard to tell.

I guess Drumpf’s theory about remaining electable after shooting someone on Fifth Avenue isn’t testing so well in red state land.

After Blankenship killed 29 miners to save a few bucks on safety, I would think WV voters would want to steer clear of his leadership. But Republican voters have a pretty poor record of looking out for their own interests, so I do not count him as dead just yet.

If Blankenship had used slave labor to mine his coal he would have spent more on safety to protect his investment in human property. As things are now it costs him nothing to simply hire a new miner. He would have to pay money to replace dead and disabled slaves.

The good news: Ex-Con Coal Baron Dropping In West Virginia Senate Race

The bad news: He has tied three more damsels in distress to the train tracks.

Didn’t he claim an earthquake caused the mine to collapse?

I’m not sure the voting record will change much if Manchin is out. Such as it is with DINO’s. Senate leadership is the bad side of all this.

That’s too bad. He really is the perfect face for the GOP.

Perhaps even the easily duped voters of WV have finally reached their limit concerning abysmal representation in DC…

The poll was conducted by Adam Geller at National Research Inc., a GOP pollster whose clients include President Trump.

Oh well then it’s just GOT to be true.*

* will some one please catch my eyes before they roll out the door?

He is an ex.con and should not eve be running.

The GOP Senator votes with the Trumpp position 96% of the time. Manchin is far under that, and some of his votes for the Trumpp position almost certainly are when his vote won’t affect what happens in Congress, but will improve the chance that Manchin wins reelection.

Manchin voted against the tax bill and healthcare repeal. Things that matter most.

You should be able to lift a good, clean thumbprint from the scale.

Some other tipoffs in the article:

according to a new poll conducted for the neutral Republican group GOPAC

Neutral PACs aren’t commissioning polls in the race.

“With regards to the Republican Primary Election, while 39 percent of voters remain undecided, it appears that Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has carved out a modest lead over Congressman Evan Jenkins,” GOPAC Chairman David Avella said in a statement.

And there is the “neutral” PAC calling out its preferred candidate. A neutral PAC sees a wide open race (due to the large number of undecideds) and no clear leader (due to the margin of error).

Deliberately break the law to line your own pocket, kill 29 people. Punishment: one year in jail.

Rich people’s justice.

See @ottnott’s and @midnight_rambler’s replies; with a closely divided Senate every vote counts, as it literally did with health care, and he’s with us when it matters most. And topping the list of the votes that matter most is the one for who will control the chamber: it’s no sure thing, but we have a chance to take the Senate, and for that to happen, we need Manchin to be re-elected.

This article makes me sad - I for one was really looking forward to this shitwad running for national office.

This is pro-Trump pollster and Trump doesn’t want Blankenship to be the nominee.

So we should believe this poll why, exactly?
