Scott has never been popular as a governor, but the average Floridian hasn’t been tuning in. Also Scott carpet bombed the airways without much of a coordinated response from Crist. Now Crist is hitting back. And Scott is going to be in deep trouble in debates. He is not going to be able to hide from questions – but he will probably adopt the Palin strategy and not answer but come back with his rehearsed stuff. And that will fly about as well as it did for Palin. But as with all midterms, this is going to hinge on who gets their base to turn out. I wouldn’t write off Scott yet. His base may be dim bulbs, but they’re not so dim that they can’t find their way to a polling station.
