Discussion: Poll: Americans More Concerned About Health Care Costs Than Terrorism

I noticed that “Having a mentally unstable president” wasn’t listed as one of the concerns. That’s certainly my top concern. “Trump as President” doesn’t quite capture that.

The Dems have to run with this every day. Trump’s just hoping for a terrorist attack to shut up his critics with a (another) big “I told you so”!
Terrorism is way down on the list of what Americans care about. In terms of numbers terrorism is incredibly inefficient in killing Americans.

Is he capable of staging an attack and blaming it on a person who came after his ban was stopped?

A further thought - something like 2.8 million Americans die every year.
Terrorism is responsible for about 10 of those deaths annually.

And if he cannot incite an attack with his constant invective, he’ll light the fucking Reichstag fire himself.

Meanwhile, rest of civilized world more concerned about terrorism than health care.

More people are at risk with the Donald’s finger near the “red button” than with the whole of ISIS combined.

The attack circumstances almost don’t matter beyond the perp being a Muslim. After Orlando Trump said “I told you so”!
Exactly when did Trump tell us a natural born American citizen from New York would shoot up a gay club in Florida. It really doesn’t matter as long as it’s a Muslim.

Yes. Absolutely. One of the key reasons he’s using his own “security team” instead of keeping abreast of US intelligence agencies and their findings.

We may not have been ready for 9/11 but, if he attempts a false flag operation, we’re going to be all over it. Let’s hope the media is paying attention. I have no doubt the intel community is.

I suggest pulling the TV ads for the ACA in the final days of the enrollment period will be responsible for more death and suffering than anything a terrorist could accomplish. The despair of thousand is already on Trump’s hands.

Of course the real cost-cutting will have to come from the hospitals. I gashed my knee while running a few weeks ago and since it was late at night the ER was the only option. A tetanus booster, a dab of anti-bacterial gel and a foot of gauze racked up a bill of $1700…thank G-d I have insurance.

Maybe because the rest of the civilized world has universal health care for its people.

It appears to me that what the terrorists really need to do is become medical professionals. Then it’s win-win!

Please remember that your insurance company has negotiated rates with that hospital that probably amount to an 80% discount off of billed charges. So, that $1700 bill was reduced to $340 and you probably had, what, a $250 ER copay? So your visit cost the insurance company $90.

Without insurance, you’d be on the hook for the full $1700. Talk about a rigged system…

Yeah, because health care is a real, serious issue that affects millions of Americans while terrorism kills less people than cows.

Wild guess here–I believe that was darcy’s point.

I really don’t understand the disconnect voters have. They’re number one concern is health care costs and yet, they’ve voted for a Republican House, Senate, and President, not to mention a large majority of Republican Governors.

What the hell did they think was going to happen? It’s goes beyond the ACA. We’ll be lucky if we get away with Medicare being preserved seeing how Paul Ryan is just drooling over privatizing it.
