Discussion: Poll: 52 Percent Of Republicans Would Support Postponing 2020 Election

Agreed, mostly but one must wonder, being so untethered to reality, how did they get so tethered to the ballot box? the unfolding of the Tea Mob was that act in play.

…figure that out and apply it to our own reticent non-voters, and there would be a new progressive majority tootsweet.

The mob was always there to tap, getting them to vote was the only problem, and sad to say, a black man in the White House was their only spark… they called it everything else at the time, but they were lying.

A liar in the White House may give us a similar response, but from the real majority, and for all the right reasons.

Classic reality does now offer new, diet, cherry, vanilla and chocolate reality.

It’s a direct consequence of “balanced” reporting.
The MSM treats even the most outrageous claims as somehow legitimate.
Sure they might throw in a line about a ‘lack of evidence’ etc.
But they still repeat the lie and thereby give it some gravitas.

not

These kind of polls really suss out the depth of ignorance and distraction that gave us Trump and explain why he isn’t being tried in the Senate.

650 people is a very small sampling.

Imagine what would happen if I tweeted that Democrats should consider a 2nd amendment solution to this fascist move. I probably wouldn’t live until morning. Well, the fact I live in Kazakhstan might give me some respite.
I’m in Uzbekistan right now… god it’s hot.
Did I say it’s hot?

It isn’t that the “right” is brainwashed, it is simply that you have to be obscenely wealthy or willing to do anything for money, or you have to be utterly stupid to be a Republican. That poll comes pretty close to proving that it is stupidity more than anything else. Voting for little Donnie as president should have proved beyond a doubt the stupidity of Republicans, but I guess it didn’t.

This is the great trap right wing idiots seem to fall for. If they want open fighting in the streets this is how it will happen. And more importantly: if there is large scale political violence it won’t be the “left” fighting against the government (police, nat’l guard). It will be the “left” attacking right wing PEOPLE. Why? Cause we can get guns too and we’re smart enough not to attack Apaches.

Thank goodness President Trump is so humble that he would never do this.

If it’s not clear…what’s happening here is the abandonment of America’s most sacred traditions in order to serve a man that never gave a shit about them. It’s gone that far.

Meaning, Fox News was an almost total success.

Oh great. Now we’re suggesting to them that the 2020 election is optional?

What percentage of republicans would support the same delay to insure against Russian hacking of the election?

Regardless of why they would delay elections, in they eyes of these people “Make America Great Again” doesn’t include supporting the United States of America or its constitution.

And let’s give thanks to where it’s due: Fox News, Breitbart, et al. THESE “institutions” should be tried for treason.

Hey, Alt-Real Right, I see your 2020 postponement and raise you a 2019 emergency Presidential/national election to replace all the Republicans we couldn’t get rid of in 2018…

…think I’m joshin’?

@meri Are you willing to go on record making a “hard” prediction that Justices Roberts AND Kennedy will join the other 3 GOPers or at least 3 other justices in reinterpreting the Constitution as you describe?

There will always be a significant proportion of the population that wishes for a monarch. Autocracies are simple, so simple people prefer them. These people only get their way when chaos so divides the proponents of democracy that the autocrats become the largest single group. That’s effectively what happened last year. We were so divided that Trump was able to win. I wonder if we’ll be able to learn from that experience.
