Discussion for article #233635
This just makes me want to cry.
It’s like not believing in gravity, but that God’s invisible hand pushes down on to keep us from flying off into space.
If you question science based on your politics or your religion, you should question the latter.
Do you blame them? I mean they have mirrors, don’t they?
A sense of despair
A vast and barren intellectual cat box
These people need deep and immediate help with reality
again, a sense of despair
Oop - shoulda considered asking 'em about the inverse square law.
Also: age of the universe, that’d be sure to come in with some face-palming numbers.
It COULD all be part of La Big Guy’s gene pool plan: eRpublicans stuck in the kiddies’ wading end, the better to perpetuate the species.
So, 49% of Republicans don’t believe in directly observable fact.
Color me shocked.
Once again … that’s only about 10-12% of all Americans, or about the same number with an IQ rating of defective or below.
I would refer to the 49% as neanderthals, but I think the irony would be lost on them.
Still with the canard, “if I believe something hard enough, it will come true!” Thankfully, the universe doesn’t give a rats ass what the hairless monkeys believe or don’t.
I’ll just hope they share the same fate.
The poll was conducted among 316 Republican primary voters.
As far as I’m concerned, this part is key. THIS is the reason the national GOP is going nowhere. The GOP base that always votes in their primary is so far down the rabbit hole, they wouldn’t be able to tell reality from a hole in the wall. The rest of the country just looks on in amazement. And disgust.
May the party shrink until 100% of those left don’t believe in evolution.
I think we can include the 13% who weren’t sure with the 49% who don’t. The 13% have learned to punt on the hard questions. Anyway, excuse me for trying to make sense of nonsense.
I expect this from Republicans. I despair over the fact that the numbers almost as bad for Democrats.
Where in the New Testament does it say Jesus wants Xians to be stupid??
The problem with today’s Xians is that they have no faith in their doG.
They don’t think doG can handle the judging part of his job
so they step into the breach…
The party’s very first president was Abraham Lincoln. Their last one was George W. Bush.
Is it any wonder they don’t believe in evolution?
ARE WE NOT MEN?
I don’t “believe” in evolution either. Just like I don’t believe in the sun or the moon. It just is.
I really find this difficult to believe. This poll should read 49% of ignorant republicsns believe in evolution. I Do not like Gopers, but I know a lot of them and while they claim to believe in God (mostly because they don’t want to admit they don’t believe in God) also believe in evolution.
Call me a hopeless optimist, but that 49% figure is a lot lower than I would’ve expected.
