I’m not sure I get Joni Ernst’s point. Is she suddenly against private property rights?
Seriously Republicans. Across the country, you’ve been advocating for “Stand Your Ground” and “Castle Doctrine” laws that allow people to legally kill humans that enter private property. Now you are going after people that want to keep chickens off their property? Seriously?
Asking your neighbor to keep their chickens off your lawn= mean
Killing a teenager that accidentally walked on your lawn= liberty
Republican priorities, I suppose.

People may think this is a chicken shit issue but you’d be surprised at the measures I’ve had to take to keep the chickens from destroying my flower beds. They’re my chickens so it’s my problem but I imagine it would be like living next door to Cliven Bundy.

The point was to build a bigger meme about Braley. It starts with the comment he made about Grassley being just a “farmer”. Then this story. The meme being “big trial lawyer vs. poor little farm girl”.
Politifact stepping in at this late date isn’t going to do much to shake that meme, either. Its already been put out there for awhile, and Braley has not done a good job of countering it or getting off these topics that put him on the defensive.

I keep chickens too, and have gone to great lengths to make sure they stay out of my neighbor’s lawns.

Ernst likes hog crap, she probably thinks chicken crap is good too. I don’t know about anybody else, but when you are on vacation you don’t want chicken crap all over your yard. Ernst probably wouldn’t mind since she likes to swill in hog manure which she has stepped in on this claim.
The point is that it’s OK to shoot a neighbor you don’t like; That’s the manly way to deal with these issues. Going to a trial lawyer, though, is the limp wristed, panty-waisted way of dealing with any dispute. Republicans love guns and hate lawyers, period!
