Discussion: Politico's Mike Allen To Hand Over Reins To 'Playbook' Newsletter

The NYT did a big story on this too. Why does the press think everyone is interested in these inside baseball stories about the incestuous DC press corp. Especially at Tiger Beat on The Potomac as Charlie Pierce calls Politico.

So if you were wondering if his many ethical lapses over the years were condoned or even encouraged by his employer, now you know. Yes. Yes, they were.

Why does MSSportsMedia assume everyone is a Yankees fan?

Because the press are the consumers of his column. Everyone they know reads it every day in their ‘in box’ as soon as they wake up. It never occurs to them that they are in a bubble.

Can’t stand that guy. He’s a glorified rightwing partisan hack. Whenever I’ve seen him speak on TV I think, something’s off-kilter with this guy. He’s just an odd duck. Maybe he’ll go work for TMZ. That’s really where he belongs.

Not going to be reporting on the GOP’s rainbows & puppies presidential election?

Will Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer be required to live in Dick Cheney’s basement like Allen?

I’m gleefully waiting for Charles Pierce at Esquire to rip Allen a new one. Again.
“Tiger Beat on the Potomac”. LOL! He should’ve gotten a fucking Nobel Prize for that one!

I heard that a scientist at an undisclosed location combined the DNA of Mike Allen and Mark Halperin and created an empty test tube.

A couple years ago I used to get his “Morning Playbook” (or whatever it was called), and for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what insiders saw.

Much of it was about so-and-so’s birthday, that guy had a party and those people were there. Just junior high kind of stuff. But worse, the other part was an anonymous individual using Allen as a mouthpiece for his propaganda. Not much thought went into it.
