…and that’s the reason I don’t go to Politico.

Why are a lot of police officers in Ferguson Missouri wearing jungle camouflage?

Is it because as ® Congressman Steve King said this morning – who wrote House Immigration Legislation “KICK THEM ALL OUT” with Michelle Bachmann –
Is it because as King states **
“THEY ARE ALL OF ONE CONTINENTAL ORIGIN “**
where they have jungles ?

Arresting a law-abiding reporter is seen as an attack on the First Amendment

Me either. “Is seen”? Really? Just an opinion, by implication wrong? I don’t fucking think so. I think to any thinking person, Politico might as well confine its operations to the dark side of the moon—nobody cares what it says.

'Cause Politico’s reporters all have the guts and ethics to be on the street in #Ferguson, right?

Politico is about the lousiest on-line journalism in the USA, except for Fox News, and The Blade. They all are useless misinformation machines.

“Politico Reporter: Arrested Journalists Not Heroes.”

And by an ironic coincidence, Politico reporters aren’t actually journalists.

What a catty bastard. Nobody said they were heroes. Jealous they’re getting some attention, asshole?

Hey, friendly pro tip for online snark: Jokes tend to wear thin by the fifth repetition. Which this is.

I hadn’t heard a single fucking person call these guys heroes. Nice straw man, asshole.

Well, Dylan Byers certainly knows what makes a great reporter: he can just look in the mirror and recognize what lack of greatness looks like.

The point about the outcry over these particular arrests versus all the others is a good one, though.

What is disgusting as well is that so many in the rest of the media consider Politico as a valid, unbiased news source whereas they are nothing but right-wing shills. It is no wonder that Larry Sabato now writes columns for them as the same applies to him. He pretends to be in the middle to get more attention but he is nothing more than a shill as well for the GOP.

I actually agree with this one. These reporters aren’t heroes. They were doing the jobs they are paid to do, and they were doing their jobs well, but spare me the self-aggrandizement from some people within the fifth estate. As far as I know Lowery and Reilly don’t consider themselves to be heroes and would probably agree with Byers on this point.

The real heroes are the people protesting on the streets of Ferguson without compensation, without recognition, without corporate lawyers to back them up once the shit hits the fan.

Anyone with a negative knee-jerk reaction to this story, may want to read the original blog post. You’ll probably agree with it.

Would you say to a rape victim, “she’s not a hero” ? They are victims, and they handled themselves admirably while being victimized. They got their story out being journalists, and gonzo-fashion but against their best efforts they became part of the story. That said, there is no reason to put them down for being victimized.

They never claimed they were heroes for being arrested. They were victims of police violations of the first, fourth, and fourteenth amendments.

Classic Byers–a few good points floating in a stew of douchebaggery.

He’s damn right that the cops down there have been arresting and gassing and harassing people for exercising their First Amendment rights like crazy, and the MSM wasn’t even noticing until their own were violated.

Well – they are more visible, and it’s easier to get a grasp on the full circumstances. When it’s an anonymous member of the crowd, it takes time to discover exactly what happened. It’s not likely that a reporter was deliberately trying to stir things up, or engaged in destructive behavior. You can’t say the same about some anonymous person in the crowd – you don’t know until someone looks into it.
