Discussion: Politico: Pompeo Calls Clinton, Kerry For Help Before Confirmation

Pompeo once liked a tweet calling Kerry a “traitor.”

Clinton and Kerry

More class in the nail on their pinky finger than the entire Trump MalAdministration

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has offered help and advice, despite Pompeo’s legacy of flagellating her over her response to the 2012 attacks in Benghazi. She reportedly told him in a recent phone call to curb the exodus of career diplomats from the department, a trend that began under Pompeo’s predecessor, Rex Tillerson.

Of course she would, because class and basic courtesy.

Kerry & HRC in unison.: “Mike, we know of several very short piers, off the ends of which there are many delightful long refreshing walks”

I would like to have heard a recording of these conversations. If not, could someone please do a comedy skit of Pompeo seeking Hillary’s advice?

Country before self. What a crazy notion!

It must be difficult for Pompeo to move around DC with that extraordinary Gall and massive pair of Balls to call on a decorated veteran whom he publicly called a traitor.

If I were Kerry I would almost feel compelled to deliver the personal ‘F*ck You’ required for that kind of brass.

What this also indicates is that Pompeo has no fucking clue of how to run a foreign policy shop. The GOP just can’t govern. They are out of practice. There’s no one reputable on their side to go to. Looking for Conservative “intellectuals” as Krugman has pointed out is like looking for unicorns. And reputable foreign policy expertise at the Secretary of State level simply does not exist in the GOP.

At least Pompeo the pompous ass, is smart enough to know this.

I don’t have a great deal of trouble imagining that John Kerry gave him a personal ‘F*ck you’… and then gave Pompeo every bit of good advice he could muster.

Can you imagine if we had such a person in the presidency, someone who put their country before their own ego and self-interest? Yeah, I know, she wasn’t liberal enough.

I’d like to think of Kerry and HRC’s response to the congressman from Koch as the punchline to an old New Yorker cartoon: “…How about never? …”

“Due to this unfavorable composition, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell may bypass the committee altogether and bring the nomination directly to a floor vote, according to Politico.”

I guess this is what Mitch means when he talks about getting the Senate back to regular order.

It’s an established pattern: Republicans fuck things up. Democrats clean up the mess. Republicans then blame the Democrats for the mess. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Trump’s not exactly a details-oriented kind of leader

A total non-sequitur: do you have any thoughts on the KY 6th congressional primary and race?

I’m looking for an outside perspective.
