As with the House “independent investigation,” the idea is to get ahead of the other investigation so as to tamper with the right witnesses, destroy the relevant evidence, and advance the most strategic false narrative. There are always two teams in Washington these days: Team Mueller and Team Putin, and only one is truly an “independent investigation.”

Each member serves a six-year term, and two seats are subject to appointment every two years. By law, no more than three Commissioners can be members of the same political party, and at least four votes are required for any official Commission action.

Matthew Petersen was the guy who was nominated for a district court vacancy but was thoroughly embarrassed by basic questions about how trials work, and then withdrew.

When I have had enough of trumpp and his disruption I know there’s this. A brand new polar cub has been born, they don’t know which sex it is, but it’s lovely to watch.
Bannon had to explain to PP what the 25th Amendment is so it’ll be a total surprise if it’s ever invoked. PP knows the Second and disagrees with the First. It’s TMI after that.

I DK who the tall guy nearest the camera is, but I have my suspicions. He has elephants on his tie and two of them have convention badges. Juanita Jean reports that the picture arrived over the transom and she knows neither the occasion nor the date of the photo.

I take this report as significant precisely because the FEC is so generally toothless. They’re at least trying to give the appearance of doing something, and they wouldn’t bother with that unless they had a reason.
