Discussion: Police Respond To Active Shooter Situation In Dallas

I hope the firefighters and officers responding to this get out of this safely.

But why is the Police Dept tweeting “please pray”? This is Texas, shouldn’t it be lock-n-load?

OK, I see that was the Police Assn.tweeting about praying. The union, not the department.

Never mind.

Well, I guess there aren’t enough guns in Texas to prevent this kind of things from happening…

Bibles and guns baby.

The problem is the bad guy with the gun gets to shoot before the good guys with their guns. Almost always at least one good guy is shot because, unlike on TV, bad guys can shoot straight.

This time a fireman has been shot, and officers are pinned down by gunfire. Please pray!

Yeah, that'll help. Spray around some Lysol, too. Also baking soda. An open box of baking soda works.

No big deal. It’s Texas. There are undoubtedly lots of law-abiding gun owners, aka Good Guys With Gunz™ at hand.

I’m sure they’ll have it all sorted out in a jiffy.

I guess god wasn’t paying attention when this all started and the fireman was shot?

Don’t give the NRA more ammunition…

Yeah the helicopters are hovering over my house. Where I live isn’t right where this happened but it’s close.

Asshole called 911 and then shot a fireman when they responded. He’s still walking around somewhere with a rifle.

Trump: I love people exercising 2nd Amendment rights. Better to use guns and practice before Obama takes the guns away.

But isn’t Texas an open carry state?

These kinds of things weren’t supposed to happen since you now have a whole Barney Fife vigilante squad preventing the bad guys from doing anything bad?

Well they’ve closed off a good part of my part of town now.

And the helicopters are still hovering right over us

Unreported outside local news – a man seated himself casually on a deck chair last night during a neighbor’s birthday party at their apartment’s swimming pool in an upscale apartment complex in San Diego, CA. None of the people at the party knew him, but the hostess welcomed him to join them and offered him food and drink.

After he’d seated himself comfortably in a deckchair and opened his beer, he pulled out a large-caliber handgun and calmly began shooting the people at the party. Seven were injured, some seriously, and one was killed outright. Witnesses say there was blood everywhere. The party goers were mostly African Americans, with some latinos. The shooter was white.

The Good Guy with a Gun was having a lobster roll in Bangor. Dammit, why doesn’t this dude stay in the South?

Is it too soon, again, to talk about common sense firearms control?

I’m praying, I’m screaming, I’m hoping that no more are killed and/or wounded. This is ridiculous.

The firefighter is in critical condition in Baylor Hosp. Another person was hurt but is stable.

The shooter is still somewhere in my part of town with a rifle.

This is Texas. Its the South. They bring up God, worship, and their own personal religion into everything.

I moved to Austin TX from New England, and at my first mandatory staff team meeting at the corporate branch the manager leading the meeting started randomly (and for no apparent reason) talking about God and how much she worshiped him and whatnot. As I stared at the rest of the folk around me, I noticed that nobody even batted an eye.

If you ever move to the South, be ready for lots of religious holier-than-thou folk actively speaking about (their) God and (their) churches at the workplace. It is very, very weird and unsettling. Stepford wives kind of “join us” freaky. Just remember to NEVER tell them if you’re not part of their “club”.
