Discussion for article #231466
I watched a live stream and the live tweets. No gun on ground and no story from cops for two hours, then gun on ground and cops announced kid was armed.
well hereâs a story where a cop didnât shoot someone, sure the cop was a woman and the guy was white but still,Iâm sure that had nothing to do with itâŚ
Armed? With guns?
Here we go, people from both the right and the left already know what happened, etc. I have an idea. There is surveillance video that will eventually be released. If it shows the guy pulling a gun, shooting justified. If it does not, shooting not justified.
Wow, that was hard.
I disagree. Bloviation from both sides of the political spectrum should would be helpful. There should be riots and police unions should demand apologies from sports teams.
Wow, there was streaming video of such good quality you could see a black gun on asphalt at night? Amazing. And you saw tweets too? Wow, sounds like a great source. Hey, I saw police say the opposite of what you said. You know who I believe right now? NEITHER.
There is video that will be released once the investigation is complete. Iâll believe that.
The surveillance footage from the gas station is up at the Guardian. Itâs at a bad angle and the relevant part is in a tiny part of the upper left corner resulting in grainy enlargements of a silhouette, but it does appear to show the guy pointing a gun at the cop.
Indeed it does, looks pretty blatant to me. So we have had two videos recently. One in Cleveland clearly showed an unjustified shooting by a crazy cop. And this one shows a justified shooting of a crazy civilian.
Lesson for both sides. Evaluate every situation based on evidence, not by âchoosing sidesâ based on your bias.
Oh, yeah. THATâS conclusive.
But setting aside a grainy video, isnât the current story that this man points a gun at an officer who has time to un-holster his weapon, turn off the safety, point it at the man and shoot him - all without being shot first?
Iâm no thug, but if you point a gun at someone and he makes a suspicious move, donât you fire the gun?
Iâve heard of officers who can do that in two seconds.
Shouldnât it be, allegedly pulled gun?
The cop killed the guy, there is no gray there, but âifâ the guy pulled a gun is a whole different issue.
At this point and with the way things have been going, doubting the cops is the smart thing to do.
Listen to the guest lecturer here on not choosing sides. Your message has all the insight of âUse an umbrella in the rain.â
I seriously doubt anyone would bother with such a painfully obvious directive unless they felt guilty about their previous positions.
I never choose sides until I see evidence. The first guy that posted in this thread claimed he followed the whole thing live on tweets, which turned out to be a totally bogus story. The âlectureâ was for people like him.
Bullshit, dear.
You choose sides earlyâand then you go to any length, tell any lie, and repeat any unfounded nonsense to support your shaky assumptions.
Uh, because heâs one of the obvious flamers?
Point taken. They are trying to bait me and hijack the thread to other topics, I will flag them next time.
:::slow clap::::Good for you. You didnât see the images Xyxox saw, that I saw this morning as well, so you have absolutely no idea what he did or didnât see. Xyxox merely pointed out what he saw and did so without reaching any conclusion. If youâre going to preach to people about jumping to conclusions, you might first try taking your own advice.
He was following tweets from a guy that have turned out to be totally bogus.
Psychologists call posts like yours examples of âprojection.â
I have seen the images mentioned above and I have seen the grainy video. My gut says this is probably not yet another murder by cop, probably a justified shooting. That doesnât somehow diminish the case being made by protesters nor does it magically absolve killer cops.
What bothers me is the âboth sidesâ bullshit. One side is saying, âWe should have the right to shoot you because you guys are soooo scaryâ and the other side is saying âmy life mattersâ. There arenât two sides to this, not if youâre a decent human being. There is only one side and thatâs the side of those literally fighting for to be recognized as fully human beings by their country.
No, again you donât know what youâre talking about. The tweets Xyxox and I saw are not the same as the ones that came from the guy falsely claiming to have been at the scene. There were other tweets from those who were there, those who were protesting, that were clearly from the scene.
