Discussion for article #235956
A good guy with a gun can stop the bad guys with guns IF the good guy is properly trained. Bubba and Bubette, unfortunately, will not understand the training as prerequisite before stocking up on Uzis.
Wow. That is remarkable. Not many people could take on two gunmen with just a pistol and come out unscathed. Especially if the gunmen had the advantage of shooting first.
AND if the bad guys were wearing body armor. Makes the target much smaller. Really, just the head.
On the surface, this seems mind-boggling!
I’m absolutely not the “everything’s a false flag” or conspiracy theory type at all,
but it seems amazing that a guy with a pistol can kill two guys with assault rifles
already in their hands, wearing body armor.
God, I hope some video surfaces…
Pretty stark, isn’t it? Superior firepower is not necessarily decisive if you’re an amateur facing a professional. The Ottawa Parliament shootings were a similar situation. Training and the ability to focus and think in mortal danger enabled this guy to prevail over two enthusiasts with military rifles.
Good guy with a gun protecting morons took out bad guys with guns.
Shhhh, we don’t want the ammosexuals to know this. So when they decide to take on the United States Army, we all KNOW what will happen. If they actually think about this incident, we might not be rid of them, you know what I mean?
Seriously. That’s amazing. Good training, I’d guess. Up against two guys with assault rifles? Impressive as hell.
They won’t learn a damn thing from this, trust me. They’ll just obsess over “stopping power” and such metrics. It’s all about the masturbatory fantasy aspect of it, and it’s limited to buying stuff. Training is tedious and frustrating. Won’t happen. You see it with people who buy fly rods and golf clubs and electric guitars. About 19 out of 20 people simply won’t put any work into it. They’ll buy a new rod or gun or guitar. Practice? Improve? Nahhhhh.
I’ve always read that shooters only target gun-free zones and will always back off when police are around. What happened to that meme?
And apparently they bad guys had semi-auto assault rifles… From what the cop said just now in a press conference on CNN there was a car with 2 swat officers at the scene and the gunmen opened up on them. To that officer I say…WELL DONE SIR!
Training and practice. That’s why the military holds exercises all the time. Practice, practice, practice. Getting well schooled cops and troops does not come automatically. That’s the nut of why they are gonna do Jade helm, that exercise that has the wingers all in a tizzy.
You know what they say about building a better mousetrap. I’m all in favor of these assholes continuing being assholes without getting shot up, but don’t think the guys who want to do the shooting are stupid.
According to Harn, police and event coordinators were prepared for an attack on the event.
Prepared = desperately hoping
This might be investigated as a terror attack but a gunman shooting up an elementary school and killing 20 first graders and six adults wasn’t an act of terrorism?
Gosh.
Makes you start to suspect that any person opposed to anti-Islamic events might be considered a terrorist, doesn’t it?
File under: An armed society is a polite society.
A single cop caught off guard took out two assailants wearing body armor and firing assault rifles with a pistol? Huh. There’s something left out of that story.
Right, they were hoping to get shot at…(eyeroll).
When I go in the subway late at night, I prepare not to get mugged. Does not mean I want to get mugged.
Adam Lanza was not motivated by politics, was not trying to influence a population, etc.
Jeffery Dahmer killed people and ate them. Pretty “terrifying”. But not terrorism.
There is a legal definition for terrorism. And resources get allocated based on stats, and the stats must be accurate. Sandy Hook was a mass murder, but not a terrorist act.
