Discussion: Police: George Zimmerman Was Armed During Shooting Incident

Discussion for article #236260

“police did recover a Glock handgun from the former neighborhood watch volunteer. Gillett said Zimmerman legally owned that firearm.”

How is this guy still allowed to legally own a gun? Oh, wait, 'Murica. Even better, Florida. Never mind.

I’m guessing that the AP and other news organizations already have Zimmerman’s obit written up, and waiting on-file. All they’ll have to do is update it with the details of the final confrontation. I’ll stick my neck out, and wager that he’ll end up being shot by a cop.

of course he was, no man goes anywhere without his penis.

well actually, pretty much anybody who was ever any kind of celebrity, even for 15 minutes, has an obit written up already. I just hope when Zimmerman goes out, it’s due to someone standing his ground.

In September, Apperson told Lake Mary police that a man he believed was Zimmerman pulled up next to him in a truck and said “Do you know who I am?” before threatening to kill him.

But that would be so out of character of George! I sincerely hope he can call someone to testify on his behalf (link might not be SFW):

Yes, I know George Zimmerman. He is most kind and generous. He is a cup overflowing with the cream of human goodness!

I have never known him to do anything immoral. Unless maybe the Preschooler’s Prostitute Ring.

Why, he never did anything that was… illegal, unless you count all the times he sold dope disguised as a nun.

He has always been a good, law-abiding citizen …

" But Apperson’s attorney, Mark NeJame, insisted that his client shot at Zimmerman in self-defense. "

Oh, what poetic justice that would have been. Zimmerman shot and killed by someone who gets off on a stand your ground defense.

It’s going to happen sooner or later. Zimmerman is an armed sociopath with a death wish. And sure as shootin’, Florida’s “stand your ground” law will protect whoever does it.

And there seem to be so many like him these days, he’s bound to run into one soon.

Harry Callahan: You know, you’re crazy if you think you’ve heard the last of this guy. He’s gonna kill again.
District Attorney Rothko: How do you know?
Harry Callahan: 'Cause he likes it.

I think given GZ’s history, anyone shooting him under any circumstances would be doing so in self-defense. If the guy is within a mile of you, you’re in danger.

Zimmy will send all his legal bills to Wayne LaPierre…who will pay them.

Like I say…time for a fund raiser…person closest to the date time Zimmerman is either whacked or kills someone else gets his Glock.

The potential tragedy of the George Zimmerman/Matt Apperson feud is not that one or both of these men might end up dead.
The real tragedy is that an innocent bystander could end up dead as well.
Why do these two men still have guns? (Don’t answer that. We all know why.)

He just seems like a guy with a gun that has been and still is looking for the littlest excuse to use it and won’t stop till someone kills him or he’s locked up. And he almost got his wish.

Probably not. “SYG” only applies when the shooter’s skin tone is lighter than the victim’s. It’s a one-way hierarchy: white > hispanic > black.

This is not funny, and you should be ashamed for thinking this way. And yet, I have to admit that I was thinking exactly the same thing. It seems to be so inevitable, and pretty soon too.

The BBC is particularly good at this. I noticed last week that Mary Doyle, who posed for Norman Rockwell’s famous Rosie the Riveter painting passed away.

Niches in history come in all sizes.
