Texas Forever!

I wonder where in the student code of conduct it is written that anyone who shows creativity or initiative will be punished immediately, probably by being banned from attending pep rallies and football teams. These people are idiots. I mean, truly, so idiotic that they do not have a hope of even knowing how idiotic they are.

I meant football games.

This could have easily been handled if a level-headed officer had been on the scene, assessed the situation, realized this was a damn science project, and wished the kid good luck.

Instead, Texas.

I’m glad this is getting play, and screw the police for describing the situation as him calling it a clock with no boader explanation. It was a clock. How much broader could it be?

Obviously, the police officer was just following the new Texas education standards:

  1. No free thinking
  2. No Muslim Terrorists
  3. No innovation
  4. No Muslim Terrorists
  5. No scientificy stuff
  6. No Muslim Terrorists
  7. No saying anything bad about the bible
  8. No… rule 8.

You do realize that even after he was arrested, and it was assessed that it is indeed just a clock, the police still want to charge him with making a hoax bomb.

So what is this level-headed officer in Texas you speak of? Is it like the mythical unicorns of yore?

Mohamed said, “I made a clock.” But to a police officer who questioned Mohamed at the school said, “It looks like a movie bomb to me,”

What a freaking outrage…Do the kid’s teachers have any say in the matter or is everything left up to the vivid imagination of this Texas police officer?

They want leverage, to drop charges in exchange for agreement not to charge for unlawful arrest. If they don’t charge at all, much more likely to get sued.

And movie bombs are also, you know, not REAL bombs, so I guess the police admitted knowing it wasn’t a real bomb or that he had never seen one in real life.

Damn! What the fuck kind of “teacher” decided that was a bomb? Shaking my head. Shaking my head. Get up to speed, “educators” on today’s technology and what EVERYONE has access to to make these projects. I know many kids who do this sort of stuff. Ahmed, I am sorry you were subjected to such backwardness, such racism. I agree that if Ahmed had been named Kenny Smith, there would never have been an eye batted. Even the law enforcement there went way way over the top. Also, isn’t it in our Constitution that people who are to face any type of interrogation be afforded counsel if they request? The kid asked for his parents!! – That PD fucked up!! I hope this family has a good lawyer.

Doesn’t anyone see the insidious danger this child posed?!

Why if Irving, TX were to ever get an accurate way of telling time…how long would it be before its citizens realize it’s not 1950 anymore!

H1: Batshit is significantly more frequent in TX than can be explained by a random distribution of batshit frequency among states
H0: Batshit frequency is randomly distributed among states and TX is no more likely to experience Batshit than any other state.

This might be a testable hypothesis.

If I were a lawyer, I’d be itching to sue the Irving Independent School District and the police department in that community. But I’m sure thousands of lawyers are reaching out to this young man and family today with $$$ in their dreams.

I want to see the clock, too. I want to know how teachers, administrators, and police could ever think of it as a bomb, probably because of this poor kid’s name.

Three of his teachers were listed as the complainents according to what I read elsewhere.

Yeah, but didn’t someone have to call the police to get involved? Some toxic cocktail of fundamentalist school administrator and/or teachers? Or is this the rocket scientist stationed to keep the kids safe, after barely having passed high-school himself?

Bigotry and fear! Fire All who participated, school administration, staff, police…

No excuse for this abuse toward our kids.
