How horrible. For this little girl, her family and for that police officer. My mother witnessed a man throw his toddler off a freeway overpass about 30 years ago because of some domestic dispute. That’s such a terrible thing, it never leaves you.

Can’t we save some taxpayer money and just throw this guy off the same bridge? Be sure and tie a 50 pound weight to each of his arms before we toss him.
This man is a father? No, he’s a piece of excrement now.
Someone in prison will get to this guy and make him suffer a horribly painful death. Even most criminals hate child killers.

On the other hand, this article does seem like an odd choice for a political blog, unless we learn that Jonchuk was in the G.O.P. primary for a Senate seat, or that he was a “sovereign citizen.” But hey, I clicked on the link!
Maybe the existence of truly crazy, horrible people makes the rest of us feel better about ourselves. Perhaps that’s why we gravitate to these kinds of stories. Sort of like reading articles about Ted Cruz or Darrell Issa.

This is a NEWS blog that primarily focuses on politics but also on other areas as well.
If you think it’s bullsh*t, then maybe FDL, Digby or Emptywheel or any of the myriad of blogs might be more to one’s liking.
In any case, one can always leave and probably should if this offends you.

Let’s face it. The guy’s picture makes him look like a demented monster from a B slasher movie. No wonder TPM decided to publish the story. Think of the clicks.
The sad thing is without the picture the published story is nothing more than bad dad kills daughter in horrible manner. It provides no context at all. It is little more than the lead story on local nightly news across America. It isn’t good enough for channel 2 and it isn’t good enough for TPM.

Just what kind of “context” could justify throwing a 5 year old off a bridge? The one of two articles on child abuse in Florida on the same page. That state is turning into a sewer of bad parenting.

Did I say “justification?” I don’t remember saying “justification.” I said context. To me this piece is little more than journalistic porn. We are getting a lot of that around here lately.
TPM is a political blog that focuses on politics, people that shoot themselves with their own guns, and random AP wire stories.
TPM harps a bit on how often children are mistreated in the US. Their coverage is probably justified if a bit on the anecdotal side.

An eye for an eye. Take the father and slow walk him up the bridge to its highest point…and then push him to HIS death! Then Justice will have been served.
