DC police had identified 34 of 42 people who were involved in the fight, and are seeking their arrests.
This doesn’t make any sense. The demonstrators were clearly attacked by Erdoğan’s thugs and then either defended themselves or came to aid of people under attack.
So why would that many people be arrested? For what? Defending themselves?

The Times ran a video analysis of the melee and identified 24 of the attackers.There could have been even more. Or, as you say, maybe a demonstrator hit somebody in the fist with their face.
