Discussion: Podesta Slams FBI In Op-Ed On Hacked Emails: 'Something Is Deeply Broken'

Even acknowledging Comey’s motives, Hillary lost because people failed to vote, or voted third party.

Hillary was the best candidate of this cycle. Nobody else would have avoided annihilation. But to your point (or lack of one), you fail to acknowledge the connection between Comey’s acts, Russian hacking, and people’s voting. By the way, why isn’t there more press coverage of Stein’s coziness with Russia and Putin? There is some evidence from which to infer that she was a willing pawn of Putin.

Trump owes Comey bigly. I wonder if he is going to be appointed to the Supreme Court?

And it is interesting all this attention to sec Clinton’s private server that was never hacked while many official severs were hacked or just had info stolen off them and given to wiki leaks and perhaps Russia.

Trump: That proves I am really smart.

Really no argument about that.

Yes. She was seated at the same dinner table with Flynn and Putin in Moscow last spring.

Note that in the inter-agency “debate” about Russia’s motives in interfering in the e’lection, the FBI is the one agency denying the obvious and insisting that Russia’s aim was not to elect Trump. Yes, very trustworthy. How do we know the FBI is not (at best) dragging their heels in looking into the possibility (i.e. the overwhelming probability) that Trump is actively colluding with Russia?

And I still want to know more about the Trump Towers server communicating with the Russian bank, as well as what the Mother Jones article reported about the testimony of the ex-spy, the one who claimed that Trump has been cultivated by Russia for 5 years. As far as I can tell, those stories died because of an NYT article saying they had been looked into—by the FBI. (The source of the story too was anonymous FBI agents.)

If you think about this in terms of the election results it kind of misses Podesta’s point, which is that you have one of the country’s most important security agencies acting politically and ignoring a serious and consequential threat to our electoral process. You had a group of FBI agents hounding Clinton over something that didn’t matter purely to harm her chances, and you had another making an oh-by-the-way phone call because one of country’s two major parties was being hacked a foreign country. That’s a problem. And it’s not going to get addressed now. One more turn of the autocracy screw.

Yes, the “superb” NY Times, which undercuts every one good story by publishing 5 POS unsourced, fake ones.

WE can just call them the FBIKGB from now on.

You’re in effect suggesting that a candidate can only complain about the election being hacked if she/he has ensured that everyone who could vote for her has in fact voted for her. I.e., Comey’s actions are basically not such a big deal because HRC would not have won in a landslide. (And saying this in the context of a candidate who won the popular vote by almost 3 million.) You might need to rethink.

Boy, Chiselin’ Trump sure fooled all of us. We kept thinking that he was shuffling through campaign managers throughout his campaign, when, all along, he really had just one campaign manager: Putin!

Have you seen this vid? See that Putin’s useful idiot standing on the Red Square and talking about human rights, international law, collaboration with “people from across the political spectrum” all the while slamming the US.

So many useful idiots this election - almost too many to count.

Grow up, John. Yes the FBI should have gone to an adult at the DNC, but the DNC help desk nerd should have alerted someone who would have been able to quickly authenticate the information with the FBI.

The real problem was that we had a lousy candidate. The Democrats followed the path usually taken by the Republicans…Whose turn is it? Not who can beat the bejeesus out of the Repulsives. We had a candidate in Jim Webb, who in retrospect probably could have appealed to the better angels of Trumps white, middle class voters and beaten him. Instead, we nominate a woman with more baggage that the Orient Express.

As Donald “the draft dodging coward” Trump would say…Sad.

Yeah, and that’s one of the key measures of Putin’s infiltration in the US. Scary shit.

It is but I honestly think it’s a good thing that it is because it’s scary to most Americans I think.

Hillary won the popular vote by nearly 3 million. We had an incredible candidate, apparently. We just sucked at getting out the vote where it counted.
