Were I Planned Parenthood, here’s how I’d respond to the subpoena: “We disrespectfully decline to participate in your kangaroo court. We all know you have no interest in truth, justice, or the American Way, and we will not participate in your nefarious scheme to defraud America.”

Exactly Right! If they were selling the body parts I think the prices would have been very high. Enough to fund their clinics,which it is not. That would never occur to Republicans.

I have frankly mixed feelings despite being Pro-Choice. Planned Parenthood should have gained savvy about this stuff ages ago. They, NARAL, et al. have proven to be utterly inept in seizing any ground in any battle over the last 40 years. The anti-abortion playbook hasn’t really changed although some of the arguments and tactics have, yet Pro-Choicers collect money and essentially do nothing to provide their own offensive in this fight.
The closet thing to a victory for Planned Parenthood has been the finally visible (but long present) threat to family planning services. It woke them from their slumber and they didn’t lose every battle. They need to do better than taht.

Did you read the part about the fake company being set up more than three years ago, buying booth space at conferences and so forth? This was a seriously well-funded longterm effort. Planned Parenthood doesn’t have the money to spend on private investigators.

I feel an ACORN redux coming…
These Pukes were still incorporating legislation against ACORN long after they had successfully managed to dismantle it through political shenanigans, and long after it was a defunct organization. That’s how vindictive and batshit crazy these creeps are. I’m still pissed off about the lies these Republicans told about that organization, and how little the media tried to separate the wheat from the chaff in that situation. They did little to stand up to those assholes and report the truth. They left the lies to stand out there alone as if there was some legitimacy to the bogus charges. I suspect the media will do the same in the case of Planned Parenthood too.

I don’t understand why this doctor allowed herself to be interviewed at all, let alone over lunch. PP should have had an information packet available for those who wish to procure fetal tissue. The information should be fully vetted by their attorneys and sent out upon request.
Planned Parenthood is not a poverty-stricken operation. They’ve been supported by Rockefellers for generations–they probably have an abundant endwoment. It has a long history as a the kind of charity supported by Episcopalians. They have a huge fundraising operation and any liberal mailing list will get you on their’s. Quit feeling sory for them and start looking at why they have failed so miserably on their core missions.
It was probably done surreptitiously using a pinhole camera inside a purse or some such. Depending on the state this could be a crime, making a recording where there was no consent by both parties.
This is exactly the point. Why is this kind of thing being discussed over lunch? I am in medical research, but organ disposal is not a lunch topic. Plus it is TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE that Planned Parenthood, which is in the middle of a “ten year planned campaign” is not more careful. I have given them money for 20 years - what has happened to good sense, careful vetting, and checking references?

a group needs to be formed on the left to do to con organizations what they do to liberals…doesn’t have to be an adjunct of PP…it should be funded on its own for work at various con groups

WASHINGTON (AP) — Planned Parenthood told Congress Monday that a secretly recorded video released last week by an anti-abortion group is fraudulent and part of a years-long pattern of illegal harassment aimed at prohibiting abortion.
Imagine how much better off we would all be if these anti-abortion groups put their efforts into preventing unwanted pregnancy instead.
