While Nazis didn’t need help to be ridiculous, history’s replete with lovely little contrasts like this…
I’m reminded of the 1950s when Congressmen stumbled onto illegal domestic CIA operations, mistaking agents for spies, causing much of what was called the Red Scare.

There is no such thing as an Aryan race. “Aryan” is a term philologists gave to a family of ancient languages.
The Nazis borrowed the term for their make-believe “race” of supposedly superior people. The term has no foundation in anthropology. The whole Aryan thing was an invention of Himmler.
If you think you’re “pure” something or other, get your DNA checked.
It’s an eye-opener.

Jewish people are so beautiful, although I’m only an a authority on the looks of women. Top 5, globally. Maybe higher.

A girl I went to junior high with told a similar story of her Jewish grandmother being selected as the perfect Aryan child and trotted around Germany, before the family managed to flee to the USA. She told this story for a ‘living history’ project we did where we interviewed an older person with an interesting story. I seem to recall the grandmother being an older child at the time, but maybe this is the same girl. Great story, either way!

Fortunately for the rest of the planet the regime wasted efforts and resources on things like this. Had they focused more on war fighting instead of this nuttiness the war would have gone very differently

There is a question that occasionally comes up in TPM posts in connection with the racist and other nonsensical propaganda spread by Republican politicians, pundits and operatives: Do they really believe their own bullshit? The same question can be asked in the case of Hitler: He had no history of anti-Semitism before getting involved in the Nazi Party; his pre-Nazi personal interactions with Jews had been positive; and he certainly grasped the utility of attacking disfavored minorities as a means to power.
Apparently, attractive Aryan babies were so hard to come by that they had to have a contest to find one.

Ashkenazi Jews are genetically about 50/50 percent Semitic and Germanic. We are the descendants of Jewish men and their Germanic wives who settled the Rhineland in the 11th century and were later forced Eastward by the Crusaders.
