“Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes’ campaign quickly seized
on another angle of the voters’ photobomb to push its own
get-out-the-vote effort:”
I think Ms Grimes you not standing up for your vote for the President was the angle you missed.Did you vote for Willard then ?
Yeah, giving the one-finger salute is too pedestrian for Mcconnell’s level of evil. And a vafanculo is too obscure; plus it might not show below the top edge of the voting booth…good choice on this guy!
If the situation was flipped and the guy was a GOPer, Fox News would already be on the phone to him to make him their new expert pundit on Obamacare, Putin, immigration, global warming, etc. And I am only half-joking (witness Joe the Plumber).
Assuming Hagen and Orman win, and further assuming that Orman will caucus with the Democrats if they get to 49, we will need two of Iowa, Alaska, Georgia, and Colorado to go against the polls to hold the Senate. If you don’t trust Orman to do that–and I kinda don’t–we’ll need three of those.
I’m seriously considering sticking to the Big Bang Theory or something DVR’d tonight and waiting until tomorrow to find out what happened. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Thankfully only the filibuster on judicial nominees was effectively limited, and the filibuster is still a tool in the Senate for legislation. Even if the GOP takes a majority of seats in the Senate, there will not be many vetoes because not much will get to his desk since the GOP will not have 60 votes in the Senate, regardless of how well they can realistically do this evening.
