Discussion for article #244420
Jim Kenney, who is in his first week as mayor of the nation’s fifth-largest city, said, “There are just too many guns on the streets and I think our national government needs to do something about that.”
Say, What?!
I thought “an Armed Society was a polite society”?
That “Good Guys with Guns” were protected from random shootings by lunatics?
Wait. The lunatics are protecting the Good Guys?
You know what else is scary, Commissioner? When the opposite of that happens.
And because the Dem/liberal messaging machine is a clockwork wind up toy with mis-shapen gears, they will utterly fail to get out in front of these kinds of incidents and demand that the narrative be “BAD COPS PUT GOOD COPS IN DANGER.” Instead, all we will hear about in the MSM is how this is all the fault of “Obama’s divisiveness” and the “BLM hate group” inciting violence and putting out hits on police.
So he didn’t know the problems of the city before he was elected?
Why would a newly-elected mayor call on the feds to “do something”? Doesn’t he have the power to work with his local government to do something in his city?
Maybe it was a jilted lover, or a out of control girlfriend/boyfriend, or a right-wing republican, evangelical, xhristian, preacher-boy trying to stir up trouble?
How about waiting before blaming anyone!
However “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!”
Petulant cop culture mandates a brutal response, and more antagonization of the communities they are supposed to serve with arbitrary stops of citizens, illegal searches, and general hostility
I know Mayor Nutter was in his last term but hadn’t paid much attention to his successor. Who is this guy? If that scared him, he should have the shit s cared out of him when he finds out how many black men are gunned down every day
Can we expect a countdown to false-flag mania on the right?
“This is absolutely one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen,” Ross said at a news conference early Friday. “This guy tried to execute the police officer. The police officer had no idea he was coming.”
Now try imagining that you’re twelve and the guy coming out of nowhere guns blazing is a cop…
When good cops are silent in the face of bad cops’ actions, these things happen. By not holding themselves accountable for what is right and wrong, they debauch the notion that they are out there working to protect those who do right from those who do wrong.
It’s not hard to imagine that the shooter in this instance (one of 90 that will happen today) was angry about something and took it out on that police officer. A rational person would not act that way, but, by not holding their own institution accountable, police departments fail to sufficiently inoculate themselves against these unstable individuals. In this shooter’s head, he’s heard all sorts of crazy shit about cops shooting unarmed kids, and he’s heard right. So it doesn’t take much to light this guy’s fuse…
It doesn’t take much to light society’s fuse. Civilization is a thin notch above anarchy, always has been. We have Trump now, acting like Caligula or Baby Doc, your pick, and this doesn’t speak well for our assumptions that we live in an advanced society.
I have no doubt whatsoever that FOX’s go-to conspiracy expert and their most trusted investigative reporter Alex Jones is on it … like a fly on stink.

13 shots from inches away and the policeman was hit only 3 times? I’d say that the officer was damned lucky and the perp a piss poor shot (thankfully). And the NRA will say “all the more reason for MORE guns on the street”>
If there were only more armed citizens on the street at that time, perhaps we would have witnessed a circular firing squad, with multiple gunshot wounds and bullets flying in every direction. That is the NRA’s dream. That’s how Trump wants to make America safe from these thugs. Everyone firing at once, no one gets out unhurt. Parity.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia police officer was ambushed by a
man while sitting in his marked cruiser, and was in stable condition
Friday after being shot three times in his left arm, officials said.
Police Commissioner Richard Ross said the suspect fired 13 shots that
hit Officer Jessie Hartnett and his car late Thursday. He said the
officer returned fire, hitting his assailant at least three times.

The AP needs a copy editor.
Even better. The officer can tell you to stop, take his time to set his aim, and execute you. Apparently all legally.
And if you refuse to be executed, he then has the authority to paint your memory as a thug and a criminal.
