Discussion for article #238216
āWhile the LPGA, PGA of America, PGA Tour and USGA do not usually comment on presidential politics, Mr. Trumpās comments are inconsistent with our strong commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment in the game of golf.ā
I almost choked when I read that, but I guess it has gotten somewhat better. How many female members does Augusta have now, btw?
PGA to Trump: The āAā stands for āAssociationā not āAssholes.ā
Iāll give Trump a week to 10 days before he drops off the presidential race, unless he values more that than his business of course.
Trump will be lucky if he can sit in on a game of bingo at the nervous hospital.
Have to wonder of his son (and Iām not a fan) is screaming at his Dad now to STFU because heās wrecking everything.
āIn response to Mr. Trumpās comments about the golf industry āknowing he is rightā in regards to his recent statements about Mexican immigrants, we feel compelled to clarify that those remarks do not reflect the views of our organizations,ā it said.
Itās so awesome that the more Trump claims people know heās right or that they agree with him, the more organizations are going out of their way to show him just how deeply they disagree. With apologies to Vijay Singh and 2/3 of Tiger Woods, itās kind of amazing when the sport most closely associated with white men, other than polo and cricket, are so offended by racism that theyād rather go through the trouble of changing courses than be associated with Trump. America, are you finally growing up?!

I doesnāt matter now. Nobody (in their right mind) is going to want to do business with him.
Itās only appropriate that if Trump acts like an asshat he gets treated like one.
About damn time.
Nope.
His ego will not allow it.
I actually see all of this as something thatās been missing for a long time - the very public condemnation of ignorant and bigoted and racist views. It has become much too acceptable, and people have become emboldened to spew their crap. The minority has been given a very large soapbox.
I hope that, finally, the rest of us have decided that enough is enough. At long last, we may have our sense of decency appear again and send the ignorant scurrying back under their rocks.
Looking at you, the public faces of the republican party especially.
I think his ego will get in the way of whatever good sense he may have. Heāll look at the poll numbers and at all of the yahoos sending him āattaboysā on lineā¦and the lure of a 3rd party run will be hard to resist. Heāll really want to stick it to the GOP establishmentā¦especially if they finagle a way to keep him out of the debates.
This will be an interesting year.
Trust meā¦you have my word on it.
Agree.
If this keeps up heās gonna have to get a smaller jet!
LD
Heās one of yours GOP.
Thank God.
Man, talk about schadenfreude.
A few years ago, I saw a documentary (donāt remember where) by a filmmaker who followed the course of protests over one of Trumps golf courses in Scotland. Trumpās a big fan of golf and VERY much wanted to build one of his courses over there. Except, the prime land to do it on was occupied by some peopleās homes.
So, what did he do? Literally, he built a tall, ugly wall right in front of peopleās homes and built his course. Tore up the land in front of their homes, put up a wall and called it a triumph. Naturally, the people there were outraged that such a thing could happen and it appears as though he paid various officials off to get this done One enterprising filmmaker documented all the nastiness of the events (protests, ugly meetings, angry citizens, etc.) and it really showed just what a TOTAL and complete d*uchebag he is. Really. Psychotically so. I have no doubt that some of those people are quite satisfied right about now.
LOL, just like the KKK they used to be Democrats. So itās liberalās fault. I donāt think this will fly, but Ive been wrong before.
